Meg Whitman becomes 2nd major Republican defector for Clinton.

Recommended Posts

Meg Whitman, current HP executive and former candidate for California Governor, has officially backed Hillary Clinton for President. Whitman previously self-financed her 2010 run for governor to the tune of $140 million, and was one of the leading fund raisers for Romney's 2008 Presidential bid.

In a telephone interview with the New York Times, "I will vote for Hillary, I will talk to my Republican friends about helping her, and I will donate to her campaign and try to raise money for her."

An aide to Ms. Whitman said that [Whitman] would personally give at least an amount in the "mid six-figures" to the Clinton effort.

Many republicans are against him, but it really doesn't matter. Most republicans will because they have to.If Trump loses, they lose.

Actually there's seems to be a growing number of Republicans that believe their best shot at maintaining the Senate and minimizing losses in the House is dumping Trump. Watch for the response by Senators like John McCain, Kelly Ayotte, and Part Toomey who are in very tough reelection campaigns in states that seem to be rejecting Trump. If they start to disavow Trump also, he's pretty much done.

I just read about a rep losing his seat because he didn't endorse Trump.

If your talking about Tim Huelskamp from Kansas, he was the rep from one of the largest agricultural districts in the US, Kansas 1st district. He voted against the latest farm bill put forth by his own party and as a result lost his (and Kansas) seat on the agriculture committee. It's true that he was a #NeverTrump, but I don't think that's why the people of Kansas fired him.
