Truth may reveal why Edison Chen blasted Chiling Lin

A new twist of the controversial dispute on Sunday between Edison Chen and Chiling Lin shows that everything may stem from a misunderstanding and hearsay about a fashion show involving Chen's girlfriend.

 

Hong Kong actor and singer Edison Chen launched an unexpected verbal attack on Taiwanese model and actress Chiling Lin on China's microblog web Sina Weibo last Wednesday.

 

Chen's girlfriend, Qin Shupei, a supermodel, later blamed Lin regarding a lost chance to participate in a reality fashion show "Hey Muse" due to Lin's pushing her out, which was why Chen had the outburst. Qin also exposed the voicemail recording of an executive saying "Lin doesn't want you on the show."

 

But an agent of "Hey Muse" came out on Sunday afternoon and apologized to Lin by blaming himself for everything. He said he presented a candidate list of supermodels to the show executives for them to select one month ago, Lin and Qin were included. However, the show didn't select Qin eventually. When he was constantly asked and scolded by Qin for why she was not selected, he made up an excuse involving Chiling Lin.

 

However, the agent didn't quiet down about the controversy. Qin posted another set of WeChat chat records between her and "Hey Muse," showing they had friendly talks rather than "forced asking and scolding." "Why does everybody lie?" she wrote on her Weibo account.

 

Edison Chen also posted an image of goat with the caption "scapegoat" on Weibo, saying, "Comrade, good work! Auntie Chiling Lin should be satisfied!"

 

Chiling Lin and her management have said repeatedly that she doesn’t know Chen personally, and didn't push out his girlfriend Qin from the show in any way, and expressed frustration regarding Chen's attacks.
