Show Background

 

So basically a show to create a super girl group.

 

54 girls who passed preliminary auditions for the show start off and do an audition round in front of the 4 mentors -BIG BANG's Seungri (who speaks Chinese all the way even though accented - good on him), superstar actor & singer Huang Xiaoming, famous singer & producer Chen Yu Fan & Hu Hai Quan (the two make up top 90s rock duoYU.QUAN, which is like the Turbo of China).

Afterwards, the girls get sorted into A, B, C & F ranks and train for the show's theme song performance, where evaluations could change their ranking, similar to PRODUCE 101. After this 1st mission, the A ranked members are made team leaders and form teams with the other girls for a same song battle (2 groups battle using same song). Still PRODUCE 101 like. But that's pretty much as far as the similarity goes.

After these 2 missions, audiences vote for their favs and the top 14 are safe for next round. The mentors thenchoose an additional 14 members, leading to 28 girls still in the running for super girl group. The other 26 are not "eliminated" really but placed in a training center, monitored for improvement with revival opportunity later on.

Then the 28 girls are split into 4 teams under each mentor (with the Top 14 popular girls having the right to choose their mentor should mentors fight for them like The Voice). Then this leads on to weekly battles with 2 rounds, where every team besides audience fav #1 team of the week has to lose a member, chosen by the mentor. The "eliminated" member goes back to training center.

This went on for 2 eps and now the rules have changed since most teams have gotten smaller. Now instead worst 2 teams have additional round where member with lowest audience vote goes back to training center.

Basically the voting system and elimination makes more sense and still guarantees a chance for eliminated faves who improve to make a comeback.

Thank you for this it's pretty hard finding anything about this show unless you're Chinese. Does anyone know when the new episodes get subbed?

 

Well... my fave is Sophie... but I think she's gone on the last episode. Poor baby ;w;

Awww spoilers! Surprised Sophie is your favorite, reading through the comment section she is the most hated on the show.

I didn't know there was a thread for this! I'm loving Panchen the most right now. I loved her audition. She really sweet and cute and I wish she got more screen time. I don't see her enough. Yuyan is starting to make me cry--I thought I wouldn't like her but I ended up liking her so much! And Dong Siyi is so cute. I wish she wasn't teased so much though (even though she doesn't seem that bothered by it).

Seungri and Xaoming make a very cute judging couple, and Haiquan and Yufan are so poetic with their criticisms.

I'm liking the show so far.

Yeah, I saw the comments, and just I don't get it why people hate her. She seems to be really sweet to me. I read she was like... disrespectful with Seungri,  but I don't see where she was like that.

 

I like Diyin too, Panchen (which is a surprise because I don't usually like tomboy style), Yuyen. And almost all the the Xiaoming team, specially the blonde girl, I don't remember her name cause I'm bad with Chinese names

There are about 4 PD101 that have aired this year in China already.

 

Lady Bees - Show about creating a mixture of Japanese Theater System in K-pop style, in Taiwanese vocal partnered with CJ E&M/FNC.

 

Tencent's Strongest Girl Group - Show about creating a 6 member group called "D-Six".

 

Girls Fighting - I think this one have the same commercial model as the Korean PD101.

 

Super Girls - "Happy Camp" channel Hunan TV partnered with AKS to create a non theater based J-pop styled girl group.

 

Its pretty much season 1 for all of them.

Yeah I would've never guess she was not liked if I hadn't read the comments although now looking back I do think the show is edited to make her seem that way.

 

Xiaomings team is really pretty.
