Nintendo Announces Mashup of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors

Tecmo Koei will bring its Dynasty Warriors series to Wii U with a genuinely surprising twist, Nintendo said this morning. Zelda Musou, tentatively titled Hyrule Warrios in the U.S., is a Zelda-themed spinoff of the massive battle action games that pit one hero against hundreds

of enemies.

 

The video that Nintendo showed as part of its Nintendo Direct announcements showed Link, hero of the Zelda series, fighting monsters from the games around Hyrule Castle. Nintendo didn’t say much about the features of the game, only noting that it would be released in the summer in Japan and later in the year for the United States.

 

Due on Wii U in 2014, Nintendo's Satoru Iwata stated that this wasn't the next installment in the Zelda series, but rather an offshoot.

The gfx don't look polished enough, I hope its because its just a teaser trailer and the game is still in production. Otherwise if the game actually ends up looking like that then that's just pure laziness on Nintendo's part to pump out a game.

 

Regardless, as a huge Zelda fan and having played DW before this is smth I would love to play. The gameplay looks fun.

wow never thought a Zelda Musou would happen. But a musou is a musou and changing the skin to zelda doesn't do anything for me.

Dynasty Warriors got boring very quickly so I don't know how I feel about the merging of the two.

I hope you can play with more characters than just Link tho, I'd love to go all out with Zelda or Terra or sth \O/ And I hope there are horses! That's the best parts about DW.
