A friend asked me to transcribe a lecture in English, but it was too hard for me. What should I do?

She asked me if I have time. Since I had just finished finals, I said yes. She already used some program to transcribe so I thought I would only need to make some minor corrections. However, when I began to work on it, it was a mess and I basically had to retype to whole thing.

It was a 1-hour history lecture, but my English listening skill is not that good and the professor was speaking pretty fast, so I spend like 10 minutes just to transcribe 2 minutes. It doesn't help that I'm a slow typer so I can't just type while listening at the same time.  So basically I had to pause the recording after every sentence. And I'm not interested in History so I have no motivation to continue.

My friend sent me two lectures actually, but I haven't even finished one yet despite having worked on it since yesterday. Should I just try to finish the first one and tell her it's too hard for me, or try to suck it up to finish both since I already promised to her?

tbh If it was me I would probably tell her what you said here up front, that I am having trouble doing the first one, but let her know that you are willing to finish it up (if you are); However, you are unsure about continuing the second one or don't think you will be able to. But its entirely up to you.
