The reason why artificial love was given to EXO instead of NCT is...

this isn't true. both tweets have been deleted. the original, and the person who quote tweeted the original in korean. the producers gave an interview about this song in english and explained that they originally wrote it for NCT and "didn't even know that exo had concrete plans for a comeback". the interview can be found here: https://themusicmind.com/blog/2016/behind-the-song-exo-artificial-love

Welp I can't imagine the NCT kids grinding on canes (not for a veeerrry long time. they are smol) so very glad we were blessed with EXO and the delightful cane dancing. it HAS BEEN RIVETING  :ahmagah:  :ahmagah:  :ahmagah:

Please release the demo SM!

I didn't like Artifical Love at first since I love Heaven and Stronger so much but after reading the translation and few more listens, I started to love it.

Gotta admit I'm not a fan of Artificial Love, but it grew on me.

The source doesn't seem very credible?

MM: This song is different from a lot of the other EXO songs. How did you come up with this concept?
MZMC: We originally wrote the song for NCT. We knew that one of the NCT subgroups was going to be more funky and electronic, so we just thought it would fit them. We actually didn't even know that EXO had concrete plans for a comeback.

MM: If you wrote it specifically for NCT, how did EXO end up recording and releasing the song?
MZMC: This happens all the time. If a song doesn't get accepted initially, we'll pitch the song to other artists — sometimes to artists at other labels.

But I guess this will sooth some ruffled feathers lol

I've to admit the melody of AL was only alright for me at first when the album came out... but after reading the lyric translations and seeing the cane dance, it creep up on my playlist :har:

As for the choreography, if NCT did end up with the song, I'm pretty sure the choreographer would adjust the dance moves to make it appropriate for the members as well as the young audience :ninja:
