When they do unforgettable and really niceable music.

Clazziquai is a legend for k-electronica, they were the first in SK doing it at all and becoming it hugely succesful there, reason why they're unforgettable for korean society, even, if they're a little nugu nowadays (basically because all of them are worried in their solo stuff and own activities).

I guess it's a little bit of everything.

Who are considered legends? TVXQ, BoA, SNSD, Big Bang, etc....... (to only say a few)

well for SNSD for exemple, they had sales that were on male level, they also broke records, helped to spread the Korean wave in others asian countries, specially Japan (after TVXQ/Boa started it & the help of KARA), they had big recognition everywhere and solo job too, etc...

It's also the fact that a group can hold still for so many years, with still releasing songs/albums, and for the best, having still an impact with their newest release nowadays (with Big Bang & SNSD currently).

When they actually make a difference in the industry or influence many artists

This isn't a list o all of them, but BoA is probably the biggest legend in k-pop because she was so young while making all those hits plus she became the reason k-pop artists can possibly successfully debut in Japan

SNSD and BigBang are both influential to all k-pop artists of today (BoA is too)

Like I said that's not all of them but just examples

when they've done something for Kpop. BoA is a legend for example because she helped bridge the gap between South Korea and Japan and made it possible for future Kpop artists to perform/promote in Japan.

People always say this (and theres nothing wrong with it) but people never mention HOT bridging the gap between Korea and China lol
