Just finished ep 4. Wow this drama really gets more and more interesting. The story is quite unpredictable. I'm loving it so far.

Song Yi's brother seems to hate Song Yi's guts but he's secretly protective of her. It's kinda sweet. I want him to appear more often tbh.

The preview of ep 5 seems to be so interesting.

I have to say I am starting to really like this drama. At first when I read the plot it looked really basic and I started watching this because I was bored.

But now I definitely don't regret it. The plot is quite unpredictable and fresh with alot of unanswered questions, stories and ways this could develop. At first Song Yi's character kinda annoyed me , but now I love her straighforward attitude. Hope this will continue to be this awesome and can't wait for episode 5.

Me too. At first I never anticipated this drama as the plot seemed to be pretty cliche and never planned watching it, but since people's reviews of the first 2 episodes were so good so I started watching it on a whim. And I definitely don't regret it since the story seems to be more and more interesting. I'm starting to love it as well.

Hee Kyung is a really positive and dense guy, this kind of character as one of the leads is pretty uncommon  His answer when Yoon Jae (Song Yi's brother) said his mom is only after him for his chaebol status, and how his chief being scared of him without him noticing a thing LOL

Yoon Jae keeps being angry in behalf of his sister, he obviously cares a lot for Song Yi and he might be one of people who loves Song Yi the most. A sweet brother.

Min Joon stepping closer to Song Yi in the end is kinda sweet, didn't see that coming.

This show is so good so far.

Btw what's with the random Heirs OST in this drama lols

Btw, I like Song Yi's character more and more. From how she dealed with the circumstances in ep 5, she shows us that she's truly a woman with a strong character. Usually in most K-dramas in situations like this the female lead would be drown in their own self-pity, sobbing by themselves and don't know what to do. But Song Yi is different, although I know she hides her sadness inside, she still acts tough and refuse to be drowned in sadness like that. You go girl, Cheon Song Yi!

I can't believe that the dude playing Songyi's brother is actually older than Kim Soohyun.
he looks like woobin. :lub:

I just looked it up and whoa it's true  Mindfuck, he looks so young. I thought he's a child actor before.

Lmao Hee Kyung, what kind of guy took a menstrual leave? This guy is so clueless really xD
Song Yi's scenes with her car are so hilarious, her song as well :har:

The flashback is pretty sad although I actually expected something more non-cliche for their history in Joseon era.

NOt sure what scene you're talking about, but I do remember that the show parodied Heirs lol. Maybe that's why there was Heirs music

It was the scene when a boy kid confessed to a girl kid lol

I don't know! And it just keeps on getting better and better.

OMG I had no idea song yi's brother is older than Kim soo hyun. Lol so he's a model turned actor.

That face looks so young, who would guess he's a 26 years old guys and same age as Lee Min Ho :horror:

Oh it looks interesting especially the ending. It seems like Yoon Jae (Song Yi's brother) gets more screen time I'm glad :ahmagah:

This drama keeps getting better and better.Min Joon totally fell for Song Yi now look at how he subtly takes care of her and changes things for her LOL

And bless this drama for having more Yoon Jae scenes than usual in ep 7, I'm looking forward to his scenes because how he acts as a protective younger bro is sweet.
Ep 8 seems to be so thrilling omg. Can't wait for it to be fully subbed.

Btw this drama is pretty similar with I Hear Your Voice in some ways imo. Both has a male lead with supernatural power, trying to protect the female lead from the villain. The personalities of both male leads and female leads are pretty similar as well. The female leads are both flawed women with bold and sassy personality. The male leads personalities are less similar with each other than between the female leads, but still the male leads personalities are also similar in some ways.

What's with the use of spoilers here :wut:

So everyone over at viki is gushing over the older brother/serial killer, and I just totally don't see the attraction. His hair especially just really bothers me.

I don't feel attracted to him at all. I gush over Yoon Jae (Song Yi's brother) instead :har:

Actually I'm not really attracted of Yoon Jae's looks, it's mainly because he's acting as a sweet bro for Song Yi here :ilove:

What do you guys think of - Semi's latest changes & the stuff going on with Minjoon alien-wise (such as when he felt cold, body changes,  etc.)? I've been reading comments on dramabeans and I'm curious about what you guys think.

I'm surprised at how Se Mi turned like that because she had been pretty nice including when Song Yi wasn't around, even when her mom kinda insulted Song Yi and put her down. Se Mi's words were also so hurtful to Song Yi. I like Song Yo's reaction to it tho, more reasons why I love Song Yi. She's such a strong woman.

I have no speculation on why Min Joon's body changes like that, I just think it's because his time to come back to his planet is coming close.

Is it just me who thinks Song Yi's change of feelings towards MIn Joon feels a bit too abrupt? I mean she didn't have any hints of having that kind of feelings before towards him although she relied on him, even after the kiss she just acted like usual and was only like 'no wonder he kissed me since no one has not fallen for my charms before, I guess he has too' (her reaction was totally like what I have predicted lol), then suddenly bam, she suddenly has this heart beating fast and a huge urge to see him again so she makes a lot of excuses lol What why so abrupt?

I was hoping Song Yi's change of feelings would happen much more natural than this, especially considering they still have 10 episodes to go. Actually I've been really satisfied of this drama until that abrupt feelings change part happens. I can't help but be disappointed on this part. I hope the story won't go down the drain after being so good like this.

On another note, I don't have much favorite K-dramas female characters but Song Yi is totally my favorite now. How come as the story progresses I come to love her more and more  She's so hilarious and so strong, I admire her for her attitudes in facing her calamity, instead of sobbing and be pitiful she keeps being strong and be optimistic.

Also bless for having more Song Yi-YoonJae interactions ep 10, finally I can see their interactions more and it's hilarious xD They're totally like the usual sister-younger bro relationship hahah. But despite having those kinds of interactions Yoon Jae is protective of her sister without her knowing it's sweet <3

she has a lot of 'destinies' lol

It was so sad when he confessed that he liked her while crying :( I hope this drama doesn't end on a tragic note with him dying or leaving her behind..

Bok Ja's scenes when she saw Yoon Jae and Hwi Kyung cracked me up :har:

Min Joon's confession to lawyer Jang is so sad it hurts my heart watching that scene :((

i wasnt able to concentrate on the SMA because of this drama LOL

lmao bokja(?)/the comic girl falls for every guy she sees hahaha ya lonely gurl?

Lmfao it's to be expected since all she sees in her manhwabang are those otaku guys everyday :hurr:

Song Yi's reaction to Min Joon's confession is not like what Min Joon has expected in the beginning xDD I mean Song Yi kept pestering him and being so optimistic about it although he had said he's an alien, and only moved on because of Min Joon liking her only because she resembled another girl. Gosh Song Yi is totally my favorite female character, she makes this drama 10x better.

I can't help but being irritated in Kim Soo Hyun's lack of emotions on the scenes when he's supposed to exert much emotion. It becomes more apparent on ep 14, when he has scenes when he's supposed to be so angry to LJK and is worried to death about Song Yi. From the story I perceive DMJ as someone who loves Song Yi so much, so he's supposed to exert much emotion on those parts. Yet from how Kim Soo Hyun did it, it doesn't convince me enough. Even Lee Jong Suk acted on these kind of scenes better than him imo (LJS has similar kind of scenes in IHYV, and he acted on those scenes really well).

Kim Soo Hyun you need to work on the emotions more seriously. Those scenes are supposed to be emotion wrenching from DMJ side.

YESSSS, his lack of expressions ruined some moments for me. I understand that he's "supposed" to control his emotion but there are instances where not even an "alien" can control his emotions imo. I think this is why SongYi stands out so much, her emotions are on point.

Yes, I have taken his character into account, but even with that it still doesn't justify his lack of emotion on his facial expression, especially eyes. I can see how he lacks of emotion mainly from his eyes. You know how eyes are the window to the soul.

The emotional scenes in ep 14 are supposed to show how DMJ loves Song Yi so much, yet it doesn't feel that way to me. His lack of emotion doesn't convince me that DMJ really loves Song Yi, although from the story it's supposed to be that way. And seriously, who needs to control emotions at times like those scenes?

Too bad since the romance will have much more feels from it if he pulled off those kinds of expressions properly.

Loool Yoon Jae, I thought you're different from Song Yi. Turns out you're easy to be misled as well xD They're siblings after all lmao.
But I wish Ahn Jae Hyun would work on his expression better as Yoon Jae.

I love Song Yi - Min Joon moments <3

I don't mind as long as we get otp moments. But ya it most likely is getting a bit dragged out bc there is a one episode extension. But I actually like that they are choosing to focus on do min joon and song yi and that we are seeing them develop as a couple. At least they aren't adding annoying moments like when the moms would be fighting and arguing or more evil brother moments. I'm actually really happy that they chose to shift that plot line from being do min joon's mission to making it hwi kyung's mission. It suddenly got even more interesting bc a brother taking down another brother makes it a lot more conflicting. And we are seeing him grow right before our eyes. Him asking do min joon for help was great too <3

I probably watched ep 17 3 times lol. I really do love the otp and their interactions together. It makes up for the moments do min joon tried to push her away so instead of seeing them together they were always doing their own thing.

Actually the episode extension doesn't happen, it still will end at ep 20. They added a special episode (which most probably contains a talk show about the drama between the casts) to fill the blank day.

I think the mystery evil JK part is dragged out tbh, I prefer if there were equal focuses between both mystery evil JK part and Song Yi-Min Joon moments.

ah read on the wikipedia page for the drama that on the 7th of February, they aired a special which basically recapped ep 1 to 15.

Ah nevermind, it actually gets extended in the end :/

You From Another Star gets extended

This probably doesn’t come as a huge shock, since SBS has a massive hit on their hands with the intergalactic space-cadet-loves-alien romantic comedy You From Another Star. After waffling on a possible extension and initially leaning towards a special to round out their uneven episode count, the production has now agreed to a one-episode extension. That brings the total count to 21 episodes, ending on February 27. More Kim Soo-hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun sizzling up my screen can’t possibly be a bad thing, right?

I’m sure nobody’s forgotten Dark Thursday, aka the day that Star was pre-empted for the Lunar New Year holiday. Besides causing much wailing and gnashing of teeth, it also left the show ending on a Wednesday with an uneven airing schedule, and so SBS asked for an additional episode. At the time the producers were quite adamant about not being able to make it work on the tight schedule, and so it looked more likely that they’d go with a special. But after Thursday’s Episode 17 clocked in an impressive 27.0%, the conversation must’ve changed because now they’ve agreed to the extra episode.

…BUT… It’s entirely possible that next Thursday’s broadcast will also be pre-empted, this time for the Olympics (if the women’s curling team advances), which would just put them back to square one and off by an episode again. I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get there? I can’t imagine they’d do a two-episode extension when one was so hard for them, besides which, I’m wary enough as it is that the extra episode will just be a flashback medley. There’d better be so much fanservice that Do Min-joon has to spend a MONTH sick in bed afterwards. Just sayin’.

You From Another Star airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on SBS.

Yoon Jae is so funny hahahah. I thought he's completely different from Song Yi, turns out he has pretty much similarities with her lmao. The E.T. touch scene totally cracked me up xD

I'm really curious on how Min Joon will react to Song Yi's words.
