Bambam's mum about Bambam, the controversy and GOT7 being banned from sns

GOT7 went to Thailand today and Bambam's mum shared her thoughts on what happened lately:

When Bambam mentioned in his instagram apology that he doesn't want to keep quiet until he reached Korea I had a feeling it was because he felt that JYPE wouldn't let him say anything or ban SNS. There was also a case of deleting individual accounts after DAY6 member was involved in a controversy.

Since coming back from LA none of the members used twitter or instagram. Jackson who checks Weibo few times a day hasn't checked it since they left LA.

I don't see how not allowing to apologize or banning SNS solves anything

They were banned from SNS? What? When?

Fans suspected it but it turned out to be true. Their accounts are not deleted but they can't use them, we don't know if it's permanent or not. It's all because of what happened with Mark's friends in LA and their videos.

what happened in those videos?

what happened in those videos?

they were having a pool party with some guys and girls,  one of them looked wasted (i think the youngest got7 member) and bam used the 'n' word while addressing to other member. (it was out of place, like he wanted to sound 'cool' in front of those Americans, sound like them)

So Bambam's mom speak Mandarin? Why was it posted on Weibo? Do we have Thai fans posting about this and not repost from the Weibo trans that has been going around?

If this is true, JYPE is really horrible at management. Bambam said that he will do a more formal apology, he should do that instead of banning them from SNS.

Hopefully it's not a permanent  ban and they'll eventually get to return if they want, but until then we'll just have to deal. Though, if he wanted to do a more formal apology, then he should've been able to.

That's what he gets. If he's gonna to act like a child, then he will be treated like a child.

Tbh, I don't think his actions are only reason why they're getting banned from SNS. I think it's probably more because of the fact it snowed ball into a huge thing with people dragging Mark's friends and their shit into the equation which the made an even bigger mess.

Exaxtly I think fans even contributed to the mess as well. Like what was dragging Mark friends on SNS going to help?

I think it's only going to be a short term ban like one time Yerin was gone a month with her old account.

It was a Thai FA translated by Bambam Bar

Tbh, there's probably a good chance that this wouldn't have gotten to the point of banning their SNS accounts if it hadn't gotten out of hand. I can get why some people may not agree with this approach, but at the same time, it's kinda a 2 way street as far as this controversy goes.

It seems like a punishment that our parents gave us (at least my parents).

Mark, Jackson, Bambam and Yugyeom were the names involved in the controversy, and they're also the members that like to use sns the most. It's a fact that JYP has trusted in them, and let them go everywhere in the USA without manager supervising them, a privilege that few K-idols have, so after appearing in those snap videos and causing a big mess on sns, JYP felt they should receive a kind of punishment (let's not forget that until their 3rd year, GOT7 is still considered rookies). JYP act like their father.

Bambam doesn't need to address this subject many times, he already apologized, so let it die. If they come back to Korea and release an official apologize, it'll be bad for them bc it'll reach K-media. Idols generally don't apologize for saying the n*word, and Bambam already apologized once. JYP don't want K-media to think that GOT7 have gone to the USA to attend pool parties with a lot of girls or that Mark has problematic friends. Keeping it quiet is the best. GOT7 is trending-dol now, reporters would love to have sth bad to talk about them - since all the Korean articles about them are positive ones.

another point, Jackson staying away of weibo is the best. He'll not feel pressure to post about the Chinese territory post. I bet JYP is also using it to save Jackson and GOT7 image - there's no way cnetizens or people from Vietnam or Philippines to stay sad with him, bc he's grounded.

Fans are also being punished

JYP did well. No need to talk about the issue anymore, he already apologized.

His mother and sister shouldn't talk either. They will only make fans speak about this, instead of closing the chapter.

She was asked tho? Imagine her saying "I don't want to talk about it. No comment." I can imagine some ifans are going to complain and accuse them of throwing this issue under the rug.

I have to fall with the company on this. Bambam has apologised, and we all know how badly some apologies are taken, some idols are dragged even worse afterwards for not being 'sincere' enough. I'd also like to point out how much mud JYPE caught when they had Tsuyu apologise officially for something not her fault. By the time they got back to Korea everyone who was going to forgive him had, the rest were antis/haters who would use it as ammo to continue the mudslinging. It could've blown up in the Kmedia (or other asiamedia) too if he made an official apology, especially if the fans continued their onslaught against everyone involved. Even if the Kpublic might've passed the slur word by, the pics of Yuggie 'looking' drunk might've caused a bigger scandal image wise, imagine those pics coming up each time someone searches Yuggie?

However, even if the company wasn't sure if an apology was going to be effective they did need to show they took the incident seriously and get fans/haters to stop spreading oil. So an SNS ban, it's a logical 'punishment' that protects the boys and the company. It also projects a responsible image to ifans saying they weren't taking it lightly and also considered the boys actions as meriting punishment. Bambam can still apologise later when all the emotion has calmed down and people might actually be willing to listen and not just continue a hate war.

To all the younguns who have never lived in a world without internet, you do not die if you can't post to instagram for a few days...and just imagine all the posts they'll be making when they are allowed back on....
