Would you prefer if members who have great visuals but talentless weren't put in the group?

I cringe when companies make them 'rap' just to make them have a purpose. Tho I'm aware for some groups, these members end up being the 'stan attractor'

As long as the group releases good music, I don't really care about the visuals or talent tbh. Having said that, most of my biases are the talented ones or the ones with good personalities, but talentless members won't keep me from enjoying the music if it's good.

I prefer if all the members are talented cos if you get popular just because of visuals, it won't feel good and success won't be long term.

If they have a nice personality and add something to the group in a way or another then I have no problem. Although I do agree that forcing them to rap or to sing so fans stop complaining is wrong. They should be given the amount of lines they deserve.

Now what benefit would that bring to the group? Some more bashing, but more fans vs Less bashing but less fans? Obviously I'd prefer them in.

Most of the time visuals help the group get exposed, so they do serve some purpose.

If they're balanced out by members with talent, I'm fine.

If they're charming/have a good personality then they usually end up becoming my bias. I don't usually look at talent that much

I've said this before and I'll say it again: "talent" (which you all equate to vocal ability) doesn't matter in pop music. Variety skills and even just looking good are far more important. Why do you think companies choose to put these people into their groups? 

 

Hell, Jackson is one of those "idol rappers" and everybody loves him for his charisma and humor, not because of his skills on the mic. That's not necessarily a bad thing, he's an idol, and his job is to entertain. And he's doing a pretty damn good job at it, if I must say.

Personally, as long as the person has contributed to the groups success somehow I don't mind. If they are talentless and have not contributed it's a bit.... you can't defend them. 

 

In my ideal choosing, everyone in the group will be known or good at something / some sort of talent - singing or rapping. At the end of the day, as long as the music is good I couldn't care less.
