On July 21, Cube Entertainment CEO Hong Seung Sung took to his official SNS to announce his departure from the label he created back in 2008. Hong Seung Sung likewise announced his departure at a Cube board meeting on July 21.

 

Hong Seung Sung wrote,

 

"Hello, this is Cube Entertainment's Hong Seung Sung.

 

I intend to bid you all farewell through this account, where I've listened to every little word you've had to say to me.

 

After Cube Entertainment's official board meeting yesterday, I will be leaving Cube, which has been like a second half of me, a company I've poured my all into.

 

Thank you to all of you who have called this company 'Hong Cube' until today. Even when I was sick, I felt I was happiest while working, and lived by the principle 'moving one's heart with music, with people', so after leaving Cube I do not know what my days ahead will be like, but I feel apologetic for leaving without solving all of the problems within the complex fence that is Cube, for which many people have given their hearts to. Please treasure this eternal bond with Cube, which is a label created with your help, I sincerely ask that you cheer on and support the remaining Cube artists, even after my departure.

 

Again, I bow my head in gratitude toward all of the Cube artists who have done their best in their individual places, toward the Cube employees, and to you, family members of Cube who have loved us.

He stepped down as CEO due to ALS years ago, and that was when the problems started. The mismanagement wasn't his doing
