Hopes for J-Pop in 2014?

Less idols / LDH / KPop

Sakanaction continues making good music and expands their growth in popularity from this year

Miliyah's LOVELAND is a solid album and better than True Lovers. I also hope she does something special for her 10th anniversary.

The indie scene continues to grow in popularity. I noticed some developments this year that hinted at its expansion in popularity

Ayu makes a solid album that is more Merry-go-round and less Feel the love

Well I'd like to have DREAM and Happiness to get more screen time and singles.

FAKY and VIVIVID to get the international recognition that AVEX is trying to do.

Perfume to get on with their international scene.

Hikki releases an album.

Less idol music/group and more artists.

Kpop to stop debuting in Japan and try for another country. (YEAH?)

May J, Ms.Ooja, and the like to get out of their ruts and come back with strong new material.

Che'nelle to give up trying for America and just going back to catering to her Japanese fans and making strong Japanese music.

E-Girls to either start making good music or just disband and get more releases from the individual groups.

More adult-dol groups.

More singer-songwriters that don't just make light guitar music.

LUHICA to become famous.

Less EDM inspired music in general, but especially from Namie, Ayu and such.

And a lot more that I cant think of at this moment.

I just found out about E-girls a while ago, and while I loved the releases from the groups individually, I wish that their singles as a whole group were more powerful and less cutesy, and that they showed off their excellent dancing in singles more.

if only last years jpop prediction/fears thread was viewable. It would be interesting to see if any of it came true.

more female soloists

Flower's album doesn't sound like 10 different versions of Still

new music from Bonnie Pink after releasing nothing this year outside of the Soil and Pimp Sessions song.

The Brilliant Green album

more tie-ins for Ling Tosite Sigure so they get more popular

OOR/Dream/Leo to stop sucking

less cover/best albums

illion wasn't a one time thing

hikki to announce she's not going to sing for KH3 so Wiz will cry

another japanese Vanness album because A Different Man was a big letdown

i think that's enough for now haha.

I remember someone saying something about girl next door disbanding and they did this year. Someone said the same for mihimaru GT but they're just going on indefinite hiatus instead.

Kominami Yasuha, Seiko Oomori, Bomi, and Hanae to further establish and cement themselves as soloist outside of their respective scenes. Yasuha, Oomori, Bomi, and Hanae have the potential to release much stronger material separating themselves from their influences in Etsuko Yakushimaru, Sheena Ringo, Jun Togawa, and Kaela Kimura. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu to release much more material along the lines of Into The Darkness, Chodo Li No, and Otona na Kodomo. Meg and Goto Mariko continue to explore the conceptual and experimental nature of their music. Lyrical School, Negicco, Especia, ã§ã‚“ã±çµ„.inc, and Bandjanaimon to gain much more attention establishing themselves as the face/sound of the idol community. Tokyo Girl's Style continues to work and collaborate with Tofubeats, Okadada, Fazerock, Banvox, Avec Avec, and Gigandect. The Insect Kids and Moccobond to release full lengths attached to Henda, Henda, Henda, Full Color, and Bag. Uminote, Wausei Abnormal, Tricot, and Akai Koen gaining much more popularity establishing the rise and influence of independent music.

More Daichi

More Kiyoshi Hikawa

Jero~~~~

I would NOT say no to an Ohno Satoshi solo...

Ai needs an album.

I feel like Weaver disappeared, that piano driven rock, I miss it.

Ai Otsuka or AI? Because AI had an album this year.

And Weaver just said they're going on hiatus to study in London at the end of January.
