I wanna go to greece and turkish airlines is the only company offering "less expesnsinve" (not even cheap) plane tickets, and I have a 6 hours stop in turkey so I was worried about the security measures in the airport and the safety in the plane.

Should I just go for it ?

I think airline is safe as long as you don't come to Turkey's itself

EDIT I read wrong if you gonna wait 6 hour, try to look other airlines.

There is nothing that can wrongly about tourists but we wouldn't know because it is Turkey

The probability of any form of terrorist attack would be low. Trust me, the airport is the safest place

Last month, Istanbul's main aiport was hit by a triple suicide bombing (killed 41 people) :/

Oh well I'll just take it, whatever happens happens  :)

I feel you, I have a 11hrs stop there after a few weeks, so i'm worried shitless, but my friend flew there a few days ago and she said it's relatively calm and fine, so i guess it's ok?

I stopped off in Istanbul airport on the way to Tokyo. The airport would be the safest place, at least the waiting place where you're no actually in Turkey, so I wouldn't worry.

Thanks guys, I feel a little more reassured now ^^

Turkey is calm right now. I'm in Turkey, so yes, first hand experience. The citizens go out at night and hold massive 'festivals' until Erdogan will tell them to stop going out to protect the country/city. I feel like many people will be even more scared by the turkish citizens after the coup; they took fckn tanks down by themselves. People might have died, but they went with their pride and it made the bond between citizens even bigger and stronger. So right now, if another coup or attack happens our citizens will fight anyway. It wouldn't be wise for terrorist to attack right now. But that's not the point. Turkey is safe and calm for now, you shouldn't worry.

Also, the security in Turkey is at a whole other level. Everyones bags and other stuff get checked, regardless of nationality or race. There are even dogs to sniff out whatever they want them to. I went to Turkey in a car and it took SO long to pass the border to Turkey because they are really serious about not letting weapons and other dangerous stuff in.

You shouldn't abstain from going to Turkey because of the current events. As long as you don't go out at night, like 10pm to the am hours, literally nothing will happen to you.

Edit: the terrorists mostly want to mass murder muslims anyway, so if you're not a muslim (and do not look like one) that's one point in the bag!
