1. Just believe in Seohyun, without make any speculation  about her activity. Just enjoy the surprice her give for us.

 

2. Please protect seohyun privacy. I think sometimes we looks like over analistic abour her post on SNS. Maybe she just want to comunicated with us.

 

3. About shipper thing, Just take shipper for your self. Shipper thing make me sick. That's will make Seohyun geting hate and she did'nt deserved it.

This thread should be a refuge for all Seomates away from the main forum, if you ever disagree with someone here that's alright, that's what it's for â€• to share your thoughts and to talk to people that share your interests, however different your opinions may be.

 

I actually agree with some of your points, especially #3. Shipping is fine by me, I'm not gonna judge you for it, but when I see some people talk about ships publicly and believe it with all their heart that they should be together, or worse, when they start talking about their sex life, I can't help but cringe. It's like, that's nice but keep it on the down low, you don't need to air out your fantasies all over the place; there's plenty of outlets you can use to ship your pairings, like writing fanfics or watching shipping videos... Seohyun's Instagram is definitely not one of them.

Last I checked, Seomates didn't bombard a major TV show's message board to bash SNSD and tell production to keep them off the air so YN could appear alone. We didn't threaten to pull out from buying albums because our bias didn't get enough lines. We didn't bombard a music show or a game brand's website with complaints because we didn't get our way about our idol like TY fans. We didn't down vote anyone's streaming ratings like fans of the two most famous members are doing to each other on major music sites. We don't leave hate and harassment in other member's SNS. We don't make low blows about their family. We remind ourselves and each other all the time to be considerate about other members even when things get heated, because Seohyun loves them and leaving SNSD is not an option to her. We don't bash other group's fandoms or members, we aren't arrogant about SNSD like SONE do on the regular. We don't try to shove in anyone's face how much money Seohyun or how many trophies she has. We don't bash male idols or rookie girl groups for no damn reason. We were the ones calling out Jess stans posing as Seomates so they could bash Tiff/TaeNy We don't judge Hyoyeons's fans or Sooyoung's fans or Yoona's fans anyone's fans for complaining about proper treatment and opportunities to showcase their talent. Everyone should get what they deserve. We're not trying to compete with any other members for most popularity or most money. We don't post anywhere except in our own spaces. Don't even try to the "you guys are worse". 

 

I saw how things were yesterday. I didn't see anything rude or out of line except SONE whining about Seomates being upset. The worst I saw was "I hope Seohyun leaves SM"? Isn't that even a tiny bit understandable given the news and disappointment? Nobody actually thinks she's going to leave SM or the group. I didn't see any Seomates starting fights with anybody, only responding to people telling them to shut up. They were expressing themselves in their own space own space own space. I still have no idea why we owe to anybody to shut up when we aren't even saying anything against anyone except SM. Suddenly SONE are all Lee Sooman stans?

 

HAS IT EVER OCCURED TO YOU THAT SEOHYUN SPELLED IT OUT IN INTERVIEWS MULTIPLE THAT SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE FREEDOM SHE WOULD LIKE IN SO MANY THINGS? THAT SHE HAS SPOKEN ABOUT WANTING THIS EXACT TYPE OF ROLE? THAT SHE WOULD KILL TO WORK WITH THIS TEAM OF RESPECTED PEOPLE THAT MOST IDOLS CAN'T EVEN GET NEAR? THAT SHE ACTUALLY WENT TO TO THE FINAL READING WITH THE DIRECTOR HIMSELF? THAT THERE WAS PLENTY OF TIME BETWEEN APRIL AND AUGUST THAT SHE WAS FREE TO FILM? AS IN, ALMOST ALL OF IT?

 

THAT SHE LITERALLY GAVE AN INTERVIEW RIGHT AFTER SHE LOST THIS MOVIE ABOUT HOW SM HOLDS HER BACK HER ACTING OPPORTUNITY AND SHE "HATES THE COMPANY". It's. Right. There.

Let's not argue too much here, it's kind of uncomfortable for other people that don't like to see it. I understand everyone's upset but arguing with each other isn't going to get us anywhere; we all have different opinions and whether you agree or disagree, we should still respect each other and try to be civil.

 

@SNSDChris1439 please don't accuse Seomates of being "worse" than other fandoms. This thread is one of our few outlets where we can let off steam and frustrations at SM and their mistreatment of Seohyun. Even on Twitter you'll get attacked by other SNSD fans because apparently we're just supposed to shut up and be quiet, we have to forever be grateful for what SNSD has done for Seohyun (as if she hasn't done anything for the group). Maligning all Seomates isn't fair especially when time and time again other individual SNSD fandoms have proven themselves to be no better than us, in fact they're often worse. Imagine if Taeye*n, Yoo*a, or Tiffa*y got the same treatment Seohyun did I bet you they wouldn't have been as patient as us and wouldn't have told each other constantly to remain positive because "Seohyun's gonna surprise us"; they probably would have lost their shit the moment they found out SM pulled that shit on their bias the first time around.

So i was watching doctors right.. and at the end there was a promo? to a drama. WOW i did not expect to see her!

It's from 'Scarlet Heart: Ryeo' aka 'Moon Lovers' (former working title). Seohyun's playing a minor role where she's a princess of a fallen dynasty and she's out to get revenge(?) on the people who brought her family down. Her character's love interest is Nam Joohyuk, who's playing one of the princes but I think they've changed a few things from the original Chinese drama/novel that this is based on; so I'm not sure if their storyline will be the same. Other people who are in it are IU who's playing the female lead, Kang Haneul, Lee Junki, and EXO's Baekhyun.

OMG imagine if Seohyun featured in one of IU's songs in the future? Or IU in Seohyun's album? Why not, right? I mean she featured in HIGH4's debut song and SM has enough power to convince IU to work with Seohyun, right? It looks like they're close too so I don't see why they wouldn't want to work together. So I finally watched her clip (I still haven't caught up to the latest episode), and I thought her acting was fine? I don't get what was wrong. LOL I don't speak Korean but I like how she delivered her lines and her tone fit the dialogue; she sounded dignified and mature, like an actual princess. The only thing I can criticize her on is that she's too self-aware, like she's memorized her lines too much so it doesn't come off naturally but rehearsed. It would have been better if she improvised a little, like taking small pauses between lines and scratching her temple when she sighed to show that she was irritated; small details like that make her character more believable. But even then this is just me nit-picking because there really was nothing glaringly awful about her acting. She was only on screen for a minute and a half, what is there to even rag on? The scene was a good introduction to her character imo.

 

Imo it's not that bad. I read the article and indeed, they're mostly complaining about acting-dols in general. Seohyun delivered: she improved drastically since Passionate Lovers and her sageuk accent is okay (though I had no doubt; girl has been teased nonstop because of her outdated way of talking haha). I'm really proud to be her fan because she always strives to do better and it shows.

About the comments on her looks, meh. They can't destroy her like they did with Baekhyun and IU so they have to resort to this. Plus she was smart by taking on a small role. SooYoung and UEE are decent and even good, and they still get flack because of this so called "lacking looks". No wonder why a significant part of the acting industry is average at best, and oftentimes mediocre - horrible actors get away with it thanks to their looks and the marketing around it.

That's true, they even admit it themselves. This was in IU's NB article a few weeks ago.

I'm crying. I finally watched Seohyun's cut of Antifan. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! All that back and forth to China and all she got was a few minutes!!!!!! And she didn't even speak for most of it - it's basically just scenes of her facial reactions. So they turn down T2B FOR WHAT!!!!!!!! Really SM?!!!!

 

For real, "doesn't have time" my ass. Her appearance on Moon Lovers so far has more lines than all of SIMAAF and that was already super short. Whoever at SM is always cockblocking Seohyun can eat my ass with their favoritism BS.

I'm so impressed by Seohyun's acting, it's so natural! I still haven't caught up to the latest episodes so I've only been watching her cuts, and this one's even better than her introduction scene. I honestly want someone who doesn't stan Seohyun to share their opinion so I can see if she's really good or not because I can't always trust myself to be impartial. But really though, I think her acting's good, she's improved so much since Passionate Love; she can only go up from here. Are there any translations on her acting yet?

The director needs to stop zooming in on their faces so much though, it's awkward especially when their face takes up almost the whole screen; not even their head, but their face. They spent so much money on the set design and outfits but instead of showing off the pretty backgrounds, they take up the whole screen with the actor's faces. At least zoom out a little and show what's behind them.

My gorgeous Autumn rose 

I don't like it. That lipstick is ugly and they outlined her lips to make them look bigger than they actually are, but it just doesn't look good. It reminds me of current American makeup trends. And the red is way too dark and it looks like a mix of matte and glossy lipstick. NO.

 

 

I also hate what they did with her eyebrows, I already don't like how they straightened it but then they colored it in and made it look so dark; it doesn't balance well against her pale skin. The messy hair in a bun doesn't help either. Hopefully the other photos are better because this one is a miss for me.

She always wears long dresses, I wish she'd wear something shorter to show off her legs.

Also I still don't like the bangs, I remember when she finally got rid of them in 2013 after the IGAB promos, I said I hope she wouldn't ever get bangs again; I just don't like bangs on anyone. And they need to stop with the extensions too, what's the point of cutting her hair when she's just gonna have extensions all the time?
