The OP who wrote the original post is right about this bit:

idc about girl group and boy group drama stop reducing oh my girl’s racism to a boy group vs girl group thing. esp if u aren’t indian or south asian…why would u derail criticism about racism targeted to south asians like that??

Some forgot7, behind the scenes, scamdol stans and miracles deflecting on Twitter/IG/Tumblr is nagl, it's not a competition.

 even tho I can understand their POV, i doubt OMG girls would do it as disrespect but we know how tumblr people are about cultural appropriation and what they think is racism.

But... isn't curry a typical Indian dish?

They use it a lit but what seems to bother them is how they are only known because of the curry? At least thats what I read in one of the replies to the post.

This. I think they're rather embracing the concept of the Indian culture. I know comparing isn't great, but for an example, what do people first think of Australians? Kangaroos, shrimp on the barbie, desert. It's the most part because they aren't educated in the traditional / proper culture of India, so they go for what's talked about the most from the country.

I didnt know about this controversy. I cant say much on it since im not indian but the "curry-dol" tag and that "indian dance/cosplay" they do whenever windy day is playing is going too far imo. I can see why people would find it offensive since it reinforces stereotypes and it does seem like they're making a joke out of the indian culture.

I will have to watch those clips tho...

Male idol: messes up

GG stans: if it was a female idol they would be dragged to the ends of earth, but being male they get shielded #misogyny

Female idol: messes up

BG stans: watch their stans shield this because "unnie suffers sexism so she doesn't deserve to be called out" #hipocrisy

The BG vs GG thing is moronic, and if you judge someone more/less based not on their actions, but their gender, you need to reflect.

Derailing with "but what about idols of ______ gender" only shows how shortsighted you are

for people who are interested omg performed narvako's curry for miracle day and included moves from windy day (bc the songs sound sort of alike) and OP doesn't like ONG being called currydols (at least that's what i got from the post)

here's the original song

here's the perf

tbh im just confused as to why OP is getting mad that OMG likes the name currydol? it's the name fans gave them, what are they supposed to do say it's ugly?

It doesn't really feel like it though, more like they're making fun of it tbh idk

Well, they were given the musical concept of the Indian beat in their song, they obviously seem to like it thus embracing the roots of the country the beat came from. Most people recognise it as an Indian beat, so people will obviously ask their thoughts on the country / the girls will showcase it.

Were they being racist? Yeah. But, you have to think of the other sides to the story as well.
