1. [+5566] Petard King (related to his scandal with Little G Na, you know how petard works) please leave Liu Yifei alone.
2. [+3907] Wu Yifan's actign is not professional, the movie is directed by a newcomer, it is also Fan's first year acting. You guys can have your own opinions, i believe he will gratefully receive objective not malicious criticism. Second movie is one of different category, Xi Jou Yi (Journey to the West) by someone (sr lol). And xXx too. But these accounts are hired and sneakily recorded the movie, even trying to make it to top search.
3. [+3892] My friend told me to never watch it.
4. [+3662] Making 100 millions in 25 hours. Forever supporting Wu Yifan.
5. [+3576] Not watching, waiting, welcoming.
6. [+3435] Wu Yifan as Cheng Zheng, very close to the original character in the novel, others did well too. Very worth watching. Let's meet at the theaters.
7. [+3296] Wu Yifan's crazy fans are everywhere on Douban, Mtime (Chinese film review website), praising his acting. They think by covering Douban, Mtime with postivie comments will Wu Yifan's acting be recognized?
8. [+3133] Not bad, rushing ending, maybe this is the director's first movie. Wu Yifan really showed the childish grownup Cheng Zheng, acting out his mischievousness and arbitrariness. Everytime he appears, very moviesque. Advisable to watch.
9. [+3073] Pretty good, Wu Yifan's acting is not bad.
10. [+2987] Cheng Zheng in my heart.
Cre: Weibo
1. [+1426] Rare to see someone not helping him 'whiten' his image hahaha.
2. [+1319] When he trapped Liu Yifei down the bench, the first image automatically came to my mind is when he slept with those girl, embarrassed...
3. [+1015] Unable to get into the character, making a joke of himself.
4. [+962] Pretty brave huh, how dare you be an anti of Petard King.
5. [+928] Unable to sing, switched to acting; failed at acting, turned to filming cf; filming cf unnaturally - what are you gonna do?
6. [+859] Terrible acting, not suitable for movies! Fans' brains are all putrid.
7. [+748] Bad acting but fans are not gonna let people criticize? Not all viewers are stupid.
8. [+714] How dare his fans say, decent acting, at least improved. I spent money to watch an artwork, not to see his improvement. Also, i wasted money so i had the right to criticize. Talking less nonsense.
9. [+702] No one is gonna waste their money to watch his improvement.
10. [+707] Watched yesterday, the whole movie gave me cringe.….

The problem is that there's no real critisism (except for a couple who say he needs to work on his emotions). Like it's either fans praise or people going "it's bad" or just straight bashing. I thought he was pretty good in his first movie, but I won't be able to see this unless it's bootlegged here :/

Edit: oh you added a clip. That's a mess tbh

Its not the viewers job to give constructive criticism.

The drone comments from his fans are funny.

Can't say he's a good actor. Mess.

I get it isn't their job, but it's not like I could comment until I saw a clip so I wasn't able to give an opinion. That's what I meant.

I think he really get into his character. His character is like a kid. So, when he is angry is like a kid too. ignore the haters comment. Many people in China not his fans says his acting improved a lot.

I love yifan but he just needs to work on emotions in acting

I agree. Him and Luhan have been my favourites from before EXO's debut, but I would be lying if I said he's a great actor. He has potential but I find him.. awkward on screen? His last movie was not bad in terms of acting, but you can tell when something is forced for him. I feel like roles are hit or miss for him. With practice and him getting more comfortable in front of the camera, I think he'll improve. I haven't seen his most recent movie - only the one with Prague and the gang (forgot the names lmao) but maybe this movie will be better. Kris in general has always seemed like a slightly awkward person in the way he carries himself, which is fine, but perhaps that's translating on film.

I think right now the water's still cooling down for him. After this sex scandal and other small rumors, the people aren't as receptive as they were. So a lot of bias and judgment is coming down on him atm.

Pretty much. Most of the comments are brought by bias because of the unfounded rumors about him in recent weeks. You wouldn't be seeing such widespread criticism had the "scandal" not happened.

kris was awkward but liuyifei make all that even worst she was plaine... but i didn't see people complaint about her...

Yifei is so dead, i agree completely.

Yifan can't emote - fact. He was passable in the first part - i think comedy might suit him better tbh. Who knows mb JTTW is gonna be a success afterall~

But the main problem is the story - basic af. I wouldn't want to pay to watch this. ^^;;;

Not really a fact.

And this was just a hastily recorded feature released after the movie. He has really expressive and sad eyes and those are going to be evident in Sweet Sixteen (Joo Won has heavily praised Kris for his acting in that movie, esp the emotion in his eyes).

maybe the character don't suit him or the dirrector is a newbie and that he need more practice... because the lead actor and the basic plot ruinned everything (its feel like film you would watch at night on tv not on cinema)... he was alright in SWOK, i didn't watch his "gangster" film but he looked cool in the trailer and "the cool city guy" image suit him well... i'm not really familiar to him but what i watched on some video about him his personnality is faraway  from the cool huy image more like his role in never gone... so that why i was kinda surprised when i see only awkwardness about his acting... my friend who's an actor always say the character who are the most difficult for him is when he play someone who look like him so... but lol liyi fei is really bad for a veteran actress.

Kris gets so much criticism nowadays because of his recent scandal with Gina.

But funniest thing is how douban rating for 'never gone' film was 3.9 just few minutes after film premiere on friday ,79% people has given 1 star for the film without watching it. It surprising to see what hate can do to a person judgement.

Even with a weak plot, film still managed to collect decent box office but it would have done much better if some marketing blogs  have not spread those illegally stolen clips of Never gone on social sites just a day after the film release, criticizing film as well as wu yifan acting.

Even as a fan I know that wyf acting is not perfect and I just hope that he takes this criticism positively and be a better himself.

I won't lie and say that he's a good actor. But after reading some of his interviews, he seems bent on improving? So I believe he'll improve. However, I do understand that viewers pay to watch good acting (or their idol lol) so for those who aren't his fans...why should they put up with acting that is lacking? But his acting isn't bad on its own...it's just not on par with other better actors.

Edit: I'm speaking from a non-fan, non-hater, aka random follower's (meaning I sort of follow him but have not much feelings about him in general) POV. It's a personal opinion anyway.

Objective criticism is fine. I'm sure he can take constructive criticism and make it into something positive.

The issue here though is that this is entirely malicious. You can say a lot of actors are "lacking" but they don't get targeted like this, complete with tons of GIFs and everything. Liu Yifei was worse in this movie but you don't see people targeting her and she's considered a veteran actress. So it's not the "bad" acting that's bothering people - it's their bias against Kris.

Yes, I understand. I found LYF's acting very questionable too, considering all the hype about her. CNETs are so vicious in their comments. They literally don't hold back. I'd feel bad if I were to insult an idol like that. It's hard in all entertainment industries, but I find China to be one of the most tough ones. By the way, the "results" over his scandal isn't out yet? I'm quite confused over the rage from CNETs. What exactly are they pissed off at? He didn't commit a crime, right? (They're siding toilet-chun lol)

The result is that most of it is pure fabrication. The girl claiming to be his girlfriend went on to reveal her real intentions and got interviewed and also appeared in livestreams and stuff - which just proves she used everything to gain some fame. The thing about Cnetz though is a lot of the comments aren't even actual legitimate comments. Weibo is a cesspool of paid antis and blogs. It's hard to get an unbiased general opinion because every Weibo account has an agenda.

This post touches on the topic.

Imagine if Voldemort hated Dumbledore.  All he would have to do is buy a search that includes “Dumbledore drug addictâ€.  Soon, the majority of China will see that Dumbledore is somehow related to drug addiction.  Even though they expect this search to be due to a result of a lot of people searching for it, in fact, the search is a paid slander campaign.

Voldemort can then buy the top Weibo results for that search so everything that comes up first are of various people bad-mouthing Dumbledore.  People expect those posts to be on the top because they are either true or because people care, but again, it actually is a paid slander campaign.

And while there’s few as evil as he-who-must-not-be-named, following entertainment news on Weibo has taught me plenty of times how the above examples can be used to ruin someone with rumors or to hide the truth by buying out searches.
