i mean i wish everyone would not use this word, i don't understand how can you be offended by others using this word and saying they can't use it because they're not black. i believe that if you want equality, the same treatment, you should yourself be equal to everyone.  maybe it's not that big issue for you but i decided to made this thread and ask for opinions because it kinda bothered me since that bambam issue, i just wish everyone stop using it.

lol guys, some black people like to use it and some don't. everybody has different views, but at the end of the day, the black people that like to use it can use it however they want. they use the word in their own context and it is appropriate for them... people who're on their high horses need to take a seat

I am black and dont use it nor do I tolerate others using it. But that part about equality girl, really? Lets not go there. Also this is an ongoing debate within the black community itself as you got people for and against it. Some people wanted to take control over the word, claim it back after being put down for years...some others would like for this word to be banned. Its still a debate and I wish non blacks would stay out of it.

I'm not black to start with, but tbh I feel like when people use the n-word most of the time it's not in an offensive way. Well, it's kind of overused these days, so I guess the meaning has changed over the time to be not as offensive as it originally was

No one was concerned about "equal treatment" involving the word when it had an extremely negative context. But now that we have turned the meaning into something that we can use for each other, every other race wants to use it or has an issue with it.

If you are not black, then it really doesn't concern you.

^^ I don't like the n word but other races should stay out it because it's our decision if we want to use the word or not.

Just stop saying it. It's really that simple. Idk why so many people have a hard time not saying one word.

Obviously in the end I can't control black people from saying it and it's really their choice but I hope they realize that when they use the word so casually in songs and stuff, they are letting people think that it's okay to say it, especially internationally where the context is more lost and some countries have a very tiny black population so the only interaction with black people is through popular culture and media.

if some black people think saying the work in a joking non-offensive manner strips it off its historical meaning and neutralizes it, then we should all start doing the same and eventually the word will lose its offensive meaning but this selectivity on who can and can't use it is just ridiculous

If you are not black then it's none of your business or concern whether black people choose to say the n-word or not.

If you are black then you can choose whether you want to say the word or not.

I don't think this should be a topic up for debate because why are non black people so eager to say it? And why are people who want everyone to stop saying it/have a right to say it because "equality"? Doesn't make sense.

exactly

but other races "need to" become involved due to the "boundaries" of its use. are white people allowed to say it in certain contexts or with certain people due to others being able to, or is it a complete no go? is it less offensive if other POC use the word/are they allowed to use it? orrrrrrr, should it ONLY be used by African Americans within appropriate contexts? etc
