Hands on Me is the best track on Taeyeon's new mini album Why

First of all, I disagree with this review because Baekyeon>>>>>>Wall of China>>>>>>Deanyeon or whatever.

I still have mixed feelings about 'Why' mini. I feel like the songs had such a big potential, but they were ruined by messy, repetitive or simply underwhelming choruses.

I liked 'Why' because of Taeyeon's vocals mostly. The EDM elements weren't bad when they were played alone after the high note, but they sounded messy when she sang over them. They didn't keep me from liking the song as I got used to them quickly, but it would have been better if they used the RnB elements only.

I stand by my opinion that Starlight was a pretty dull song. I think it has something to do with me not liking this K-RnB style and K-RnB artists' singing style. It didn't feel as soulful as it should have been.

Fashion would have been my favorite because I was totally into that sensual atmosphere of the verses, but then the unmatching, repetitive chorus come along and ruined everything. 'Never stopped loving you' part saved the chorus.

Hands on Me had the same problem as Fashion. Good verses, nice vocals, underwhelming chorus, that doesn't have much to do with the lyrics either. The lyrics were nice tho.

Up&Down. I expected worse rapping from Hyoyeon, but it was actually good to my ear. The song had some nice, catchy parts, but it felt lacking and I don't know why. I needed like 3 listens before getting into it.

Good Thing saved this album for me. It didn't fail to keep me interested throughout the whole song. That sax! It's one of my summer jams.

'Night' sounds like something I would enjoy and her sexy English was on point. But it lacked catchiness. 'I' album had slow and mid-tempo songs mostly, but they've all had some kind of internal catchiness to them. And this song, didn't have it, although it had everything that I like in a song.

I totally loved the sound she went for with 'I', I still believe that mini was a masterpiece, meanwhile this one sounded like a TTS album with good and underwhelming tracks alike. It wasn't bad, but it could have been better.

So, ranking for me  is something like:

Good Thing>Why>Night>Up&Down>Fashion>Hands On Me>Starlight,

Hand on Me sound so good at live concert but I don't like album version...so many experimental sound mixed and ıts tiring your ears after a minute, I liked hand claps but piano no!...I think especially the back track piano sound is so unnecessary at this song...but live version was so good.

I think best songs are Up and Down and Why..

Thanks for reading!

First, still TaeDean but to each their own so no biggie lol.

Pretty spot on comparison to a TTS mini. Why can be like Taeyeon's own Holler now that I think about me. Also Hands on Me's composition >>>> although i really did enjoy Good Thing.
