Neural Network 834
Looking at how things are quickly escalating between chinese fans and SEA/taiwanese kpop fans, I am guessing soon there will be lots of pressure to ethnic korean idols who are trying to enter China entertainment market. Yoona, Jessica, Krystal, EXO (sans Lay), and every other korean stars are going to be pressured by chinese fans to express their POV on the issue.Chinese fans will be ask them whose side they are on: with China or against China? What do you think?

Deâ„“phina 14,904
Nah, they won't. I think the C-fans nationalist craze only apply to what they consider their own celebs. Still, I'm glad a few of my faves don't have SNS. If the others who do support Chinese imperialism, then I'm out.

What do you think? I really don't think so. They are entertainers, not politicians. Why should they be interested in the territorial dispute between two foreign countries? it would be odd if someone ask them ; they don't have to answer to such questions. They go there to sing or act not to talk about the territorial dispute in the South China Sea. I don't think Chinese expect from them a political analysis. Animeuver 5,881
Chinese fans won't, journalists looking for some sick thrill might. Chinese stans are very protective of their idols and wouldn't risk asking their idols such things. Though to be fair the idols have no requirements to answer - entertainment and politics should never be mixed together,

TMJ 247
1. What people thinks here on OH it doesn't matter, the fact that this China vs SEA can lead to a war that is matter. 2. Vic, Tao and other chinese (from chinese) artist having opinion about this matter is acceptable, but saying that publicly is insensitive (they should think about the impact of their opinion, they're public figur). More wise please. 3. It's fair for Kpop fans from countries that involved (Phil, Brunei, Malay, Viet and Taiwan maybe) to disappointed over Vic, Tao and etc statement. They love their country just like Vic, Tao ect did. 4. It's ridiculous for people from countries that not involved to says anything about this matter, stating opinion is right, but stating opinion about something you don't understand is stupid. 5. This chinese 9 dash line is not not a small issue, it's about china claim other coutries teritorial as their, a teritorial that based on international agreements are belong to the other countries, just like Rusia claim Crimea but with weaker proof. 6. My own country is not involved, but our Zona Economy exclusive is really really near the line, so of course I put attention to this matter. I just hope all the country involved can settle this problem immediately. EDIT : About Korean idols, there's possibility chinese fan going to do that, but the best thing they can do is to keep quiet, keeps their opinion about this matter for them self, anything it is. That is.

duchessjeni 296
I'm from the Philippines, and we've recently won in an arbitration against China regarding some islands off of the West Philippine Sea/South China Sea. Luhan and other Chinese idols have expressed their support for their country, and I'm not taking it against them. I understand that their loyalty to their country comes first, as do my loyalty to my own country. I will keep supporting them because i didn't stan them for their political affiliations anyway. Other celebs that didn't post anything is getting called out by cnetz. Honestly posting something IS a wise move for them career wise.
BomiSaur 289
One does not simply put politics and K-pop together. That is stupid. Music has no boundaries, so it would be great if ULTRANATIONALISTIC dickheads would shut up, leave the fandom, so fans that are there to love their idols can enjoy the music, without hearing you rant about politics.
