Ive heard some people say "this *insert kpop group* is more popular internationally(minus Japan and China)than in Korea" and that got me thinking- how do they know??It's not like in Korea, Japan, and China where fans only go to their biases concerts so how?

if there is a group that everyone supports (multifandom or not) there you have the answer. For example,  a fan supports 7 groups and other fan 5 groups but the only group/fandom  they have in commun is BigBang/VIPS. Also, there are a lot of people who are multifandom but don't support all of them equally.

if you like a small amount of groups i can believe it, but when you're totally multifandom? who has the kind of money to support them all? inevitably you have to prioritize, and the money goes to the favorite groups.

Hmm.. Maybe I shouldn't have said multifandom then

Multifandom is correct, it's more common for western fans to go to various idol's concerts (when/if the opportunity arises). Those fans who aren't so thirsty because they have concerts available to them like Korea or Japan, will usually only go see their bias.

We (western fans) are more multifandom-oriented, but my comment was about support and the limits of how multifandom you can be. Support equals money.
