Babymetal wasn't really intended to be exported outside japan it was just that there style felt soooo wrong yet it is so good at the same time, which makes it so metal. Less clear lead melody which pretty much guarantees it won't get stuch in your head; sure, some people can probably appreciate the OMG-complex factor, but it doesn't seem to be well thought out for a complex song, more of whatever goes. The second song sounds pretty much the same - so, points for consistent style, but that's about it. By the time I've typed the above I've already forgot how song souneded like and that's not a good thing if you are trying to create a hit. tisiok 865 Posted July 12, 2016 Share Posted July 12, 2016 first: babymetal is kawaii metal. this group isn't. second. babymetal never was intended to be a formal group. was an experiment, and the creator kobametal, made for them funny and extraordinary original music, just because he loves what he do. this group is just another from hundreds alike, trying the same formula from many. third: thanks to the amazing originality they have, they became viral since first day, and the most important, viral outside japan. this group never could be that. and fourth: thanks to their viral videos among metal comunity, they were invited to sonisphere. they never promoted until then, their image outside their homeland. all came easy, because they are an extraordinary group. last coment: it will be really hard to see this again. This is a 20 year old band and an adult woman who is probably at least mid-30s doing this stuff is not the sort of gimmick that makes you go viral. Songwriting, variety of songs, singing, costume design, stage presence, charisma and live performance are all worse than BABYMETAL. Their aesthetic and vibe are completely different and they also don't have any Idol inspired stuff like chants and dancing like BABYMETAL have.
