i'm not talking about scandals or whatever.. the charts havent been too great to mainstream music with Reply and DotS dominating the the OSTs..... and then came SMTM which should have been cancelled like 2 years ago dominating the summer and cockblocking everything... and now comes the Olymics which will leave august a deadzone for all our favs.... thats more or less 3-4 months just gone out of the year....

It has always been like that and will always be like that.

Drama OSTs will always be more relevant than our idols and songs from SMTM will always be more relevant than our idols.

To be honest, all kind of broadcast-like songs.

I think I will became indie in August if there isn't any company releasing stuff.

Also, the definition of mainstream is very different for "I-fans" and Korean listeners.

Mainstream music to Korean listeners are drama OSTs, mainstream rappers, mainstream ballad singers, mainstream R&b singers, and popular idols' songs.

But to "i-fans", it is all idols' songs.

So yeah, Korean listeners are very very content with the mainstream music right now...their definition of mainstream music that is

How are the Olympics going to affect Kpop?

In 2012 groups were still making comebacks as usual during the London Olympics and there were only some music shows that got cancelled

all broadcasting shows will be focusing on the olymics.. so expect to see so many cancellations or last minute preemptions .. especially if SK are doing well..

Gfriend is now dying in front of our own eyes.

Only Twice remains. And who knows what will happen when they return.

Wonder girls got their first PAK and have the most roof hits on Melon for girl groups... I think its safe to say that theyre very much alive..
