will mnet end boy group survival shows after this?

this past couple of months, mnet has had three boy group survival programs airing,  FNC's DOB, Cube's Pentagon Maker, and Boys24. 

 

now, all three of the shows flopped/are flopping pretty badly as of now. lack of interest, attention, and promotion is the cause for this and i worry for the groups that will be the products of these shows. 

 

obviously a boy version of produce 101 is already in the making and maybe it will do well since it will have well known company trainees involved. but i wonder if mnet finally understands that idol group survival shows just won't work unless the big three is involved. i mean, even produce 101's success was pure luck. how well chaeyeon and sejeong are doing now that they're out of ioi is kind of proof that is was pure luck.

 

anyway, should survival shows be ended for good? it's honestly getting a bit boring since they're all virtually the same.

isnt it cos they did 3 shows at once instead of 1 at a time...dilutes interest

there seems to be interest about boys24 especially when compared to the other two shows, anyway these shows not being mega popular doesn't have to do when the fact that they are boys but that the boys aren't from popular companies.

Boys24 drew much criticism though it got attention but the core demographic themselves (teenage girls) doesn't seem interested at them

 

Pentagon and DOB are company based survival shows so it's mostly a guarantee that they're not going to draw that much attention because both Cube and FNC didn't really mediaplay their new groups that much

I think part of it is that men don't appeal to the public and catch trends in the same way girls do but I think if JYP or YG did another one or if SM entered the ring, it'd be alright but it's just that nobody is checking for anyone in these latest series.
