OneHallyu

Just want to ask something about onehallyu

Onehallyu started in early May 2013. This forum popped up right after Hallyu8 disappeared overnight and to this day I still don't know what happened to Miku or the forum.

And before Hallyu8 most of us were on AKP's forums (which was called 6Theory at the time)

Wasn't there but from older posts I've seen on here, the story was that a server file stopped working? but a lot of others think what really went down was that the owner stole money that people donated for H8 and ran off.

May 3rd 2013

Most of the older users came from Hallyu8 before it collapsed. I wasn't there tho, this was my first.

Thank you

6theory, then Hallyu8, now Onehallyu!

Can you tell me when does 6theory and Hallyu8 starts to function?

adkghadgk the latter sounds more plausible to me tbh.

I remember Hallyu8 asked for donations almost monthly 'to keep the forum up and running'

Thank you

AKP started in 2007 so I would imagine 6Theory started up some time after that (by the time I joined in 2010 it was a very established community)

In early 2012 (I think it was in March or something) Johnny had a hissy fit about the state the forum was in and he tried to revamp everything. Most of us didn't want to deal with his bullshit so some members, including the founder Miku, started up Hallyu8 which lasted about a year

Hallyu8 seems mysterious. I never used it and only heard of it after joining OH.

I used Soompi back from right before the Kpop hallyu to its heydays !before the layout change. I used AKP briefly. I started lurking Arama LJ and Omona LJ for a long while. Then I joined OH after reading Omona got stale.

I'm a certified Koreaboo.

Wow...that is terrible.

I remember I was on some other forum before I quit kpop...might have been AKP? I wasn't very active though. I did join some 2NE1 and Shinee forums, but I was scared off by the kpop fans there. HAHA

I may be missing important details but from what I remember

Johnny didn't like how much trolling was going on in 6Theory and how uncontrolled the environment was. There were pretty much only two mods that were ever online (sgtninjago and kalexis, god bless them ♥) so just imagine the chaos. He was complaining that the forum went to shits which was hypocritical and stupid considering the fact that 1) allkpop was a troll site for years before they turned into a "'news"'' site and 2) it was his fault the forum was that way to begin with. I remember seeing people who voiced their opinion against Johnny/his decision got banned instantly  :derp:

Someone said that he was worried the dragging that was going on in 6T would deter kpop stars from doing interviews with their writers but I don't think this was completely the case because there was plenty of trolling in the comment section of the articles anyway.

But yeah, it was a long time ago and I watched it all happen from the sidelines so I may be wrong but this is what I remember

I get it. Two mods to take care of the whole forum? He should recruit more mods instead
