Yixing has been appointed as The Hunan Province Communist Youth League Publicity Ambassador

I love Yixing and want to congratulate him but the word "Communist" gives me an itch.

It's China's sole governing political party so...I wouldn't give much thought to it in all honesty despite the implications associated with communism in the west (my country is maoist as far as the ruling government goes for example).

I don't know how is in China, but in my country, during communism, every student between 8-14 was a pioneer and between 14-18 belonged to union of communist youth.   Every student took the oath  at 8 years old (that oath about loving your homeland, be diligent, disciplined, hardworking, honor the red scarf, learn well in school)  , membership being compulsory. High schoolers automatically belonged to union of communist youth, those in primary school and middle school to piooner organization and those in kindergarden to another organzation. ( country's eagles or little eagles) Every class (pioneer unit) had 1 commander - usually the student with highest marks, 3 squad leaders,  2 flag bearers and 1 sanitary)  All students organizations were under Communist Party (the only party from that time).  I guess is similar in China.

pioneers are those with white shirt while little eagles with orange shirt. This was Romanian school uniform during communist regime. ( 1945- 1989)

this looks like the "morning salute" before the classes started, when all students gathered in the schoolyard.

after the length and style of the girls uniform skirt, this is from the 80s, the other picture (the colored)  from the 70s.

more likely Lay was also a pioneer while he was a student, but now that he finished school, he better stay away  and don't be the image of any party.

I knew fans will say some shit bc of "communist" word. ..*sigh* tired of this shit. My parents were born and grew up in communist country and they were communists till USSR's breakdown, and no, my parents are not bloodthirsty filthy human beings or support.. .eh... whatever crazy impression on communism's ideas you have in your heads.

It's just the way their society works, you are not only a hardworking citizen, but also a part of communist labor party and... I don't know how to explain it... Nah, forget it

You're one of the lucky ones that avoided being starved to death.

That's good.

The funny (not really HAHA-type funny) part is that...the current Chinese president has issues with this org. Lay is getting involved in some messy political thing. Hopefully he's careful.

I wasn't aware. I guess we will see how it goes.

He is an adult. I'm sure he knows what he is getting himself into. And I just hope that he does the best he can - to spread positivity and motivate people towards doing/being good like he has always tried to. Like he is supposed to do.

Not everyone under a communist reign is being starved to death. It's not a perfect government form (as has been proved multiple times) but the treatment of the people currently is on the scale of other countries with free market and etc. (generally that is since countries like NK do still exist). For example Vietnam and China have been improving tremendously in the past decade as they have started to add some capitalistic aspects into the mix. There are also many countries which are not communist but live in an area with a prominent communist presence (either as a political party or just an emerging belief) and they are doing "fine". So there are actually many of these "lucky" ones around ~

Ah. I kept thinking this was NK-type communism. NK most certainly doesn't practice any type of capitalism, so yeah. Just hope it's not crony.
