On the edges of the fireworks,
An instant of turmoil, an instant of dreams.
Short-selling [my] infatuated heart
Only for the sake of a moment of [your] lissomeness[1].

You are already my
Most beautiful reason since birth.
How can let [our] solemn pledge of love
Flow through the cracks between [my] fingers?

Within the bedchamber[2] [adorned with] a multitude of flowers,
Tears have soaked through the vivid red.
How many people are visibly moved because of love?
The extravagance is empty,
Falling short of your kind favor.

Destinies [of love] arise and disperse. Flowers bloom and wither.
Who, with a heart full of infatuation, speaks of waiting?
The waves slap lightly,
How many unforeseen mishaps brim over?

Allowing the months and years to wander and yet linger at their own discretion,
Who keeps watch, having forgotten to leave?
Please cherish that person
[Who's] waiting for you with unchanging sincerity.

I am willing to use a heart that melts the frost,
In the name of the flowers,
To delve into [the matter of] your eyes,
Whether [they] are exactly as [they] were originally,
Unperturbed while waiting for me.

They say that the tender feelings of the snow and the moon[3.1]
Will understand the slight drunkenness of the wind and the flowers[3.2].
Persistent[4] vexations
Pause upon meeting love.

T/N:

[1] 惊鸿 (lit. startled swan goose) is used metaphorically to describe a beautiful woman's litheness and gracefulness.

[2] é—º is a woman's bedchamber.

[3.1] 雪月 (snow and moon) and [3.2] 风花 (wind and flower) together make up the saying, 雪月风花, which literally describes the scenery of the four seasons and metaphorically refers to matters of love.

[4] 点穴 is literally to press upon an acupoint of the body. If you're familiar with wuxia fiction, you may know of certain outcomes of this, depending on which acupoint(s) is/are pressed: injury, muteness, and, famously, immobility, etc. So "persistent" is an interpretive translation based on the thought that if you render the vexations immobile, they would persist and not go away.
