Oli London 1,762
Edit: Maybe I should clarify. My invasion of her privacy was made out of ignorance, but that does not absolve me of my actions. I was bored, her bedroom door was open, her computer screen was up, the internet was down, I saw text, thought she downloaded a book to read prior to that, was curious in her book interests, so I read a few lines. So my 13 year old cousin writes anime fanfiction. I stumbled upon it, and by stumbled upon it, I mean I was visiting my cousin's house for a week and everyone was outside while I was alone and bored; so I was wandering from open doored room to other open doored rooms, and then I saw it. At first I thought it was downloaded pdf of a story, but then I saw the blinking line. Which pushed me to decide to read a few lines. It was bad. I only read a few lines and I knew it was going to be bad. What I got from those few lines were that the main character was kidnapped and feared the kidnappers would do, and I quote, "sexual acts" to her. All I could think was, "NO, DON'T GO DOWN THAT ROAD." I mean, you gotta write to get better, but the embarrassment will come back to haunt you. Luckily I never wrote anything as embarrassing, because my memory won't let me remember anything as of right now. Anyway, after that, I did not let it be known that I read it. Then later, after spending a little more time with my cousin, I concluded that she is aware of foods that could be used during sex, especially coconut oil(don't ask me I don't know we were watching a family show), probably knows the mechanics of sex, but not the details. Am I a terrible person for sharing this? I can't share this in real life.

yeoto 311
It seems like once kids/teens discover fanfiction sex knowledge follows closely behind if they didn't know it already lol It's a dangerous world out there especially when 80% of fanfiction is smut. I've always been too embarrassed to write fanfiction (I thought I would portray the characters wrong and get hated for it) and instead wrote original stuff to practice which in the end was just as embarrassing. Oli London 1,762
Isn't that invasion of privacy? Maybe. Yes? I mean it was out there for anyone to see. Like i overheard her younger sis was reading it too.

I didn't mean to, that's why I ran after a few lines. I didn't start on fanfic or smut until I was 16-17, I guess because I'm a late bloomer. I feel not good now. I worry about her. I don't want her to be like those girls that write about wanting to be forced and abused.

I don't want her to be like those girls that write about wanting to be forced and abused. i wouldn't be too worried just yet. writing is just a way of exploration; she may not find wanting to be forced and abused sexy, she might just want to explore that as a plot point, in terms of what it does to characters etc. like, if you're really worried, try to teach her how to recognise the different types of abuse and why people think they love their abusers sometimes. Kanan 4,318
Mehh. I was writing smut fanfics when I was that age. I think (for me) it was out of curiosity and trying to seem like an "adult".
