Which way do you think will make more profit? like YG did with 2NE1 or Normal promotions?

2NE1 basically it's like promotions 4 songs as their title track in one album, 4 music videos, 4 comeback stage, 4 teasers etc and in simple explanation it's like you doing 4 comeback just for 1 album.
or normal promotions, you just make priority for 1 songs as title track and immediately just release one MV and all songs in album on the same time.

I think the way YG doing promotions for each songs in album is good even tough your single can't sell as much as top single this year but because you promotion 4 songs like title track. And in total digital album sales you still can manage sell much because more people usually will buy title track (promotions) songs than non-title track songs.

like this, because you release 4 single and promotions them, just assume average songs can sell @800k in total they can sell 3,200K for 4 songs.then let's assume another 6 songs in total 10 songs on album can sell @200K
so in total sales: (4x800) + (6x200) = 4,400K

when in normal promotion usually only one title track + one song of non-title track can sell better, assume one title songs can sell 1,500 and one of non-title track can sell 900K in total they can sell 2,400K for 2 song but usually another songs in album (non-title track songs) will not sales better, then let's assume in total 10 song in album and beside 2 songs before can selll average for @200K.
so in total digital sales for album in normal promotion: 1,500 + 900 + (8x200) = 4,000K

so they can sell 400K more even though their song not top 5 single this year.

Which way do you think will make more profit, with YG mentod of promotions or normal promotions?
because we all know the cost for promotion for 4 songs and make MV for each song is so much.

i love the way YG does there promotions

watching my bias groups performing for a few months at once is pretty amazing

you make more money promoting different songs

like

do you love me 630k , falling in love 870k?

thats as much as top 5 singles this year

+ 500k the baddest female

once 2ne1s album is released it will sell like 4millon+ digital singles nearly as much as sistar who are called the new digital queens xd

Uhm.... of course the latter, I mean spending money on one music video and one comeback stage cost much less than spending on 4???

but with 4 title tracks, you will gross more (digitally) and some albums have golden gems that unfortunately get ignored. A lot of people don't check out the other tracks on the album, so it's nice to promote the good ones too.

yeah, good for 2NE1.

but you misinformation about top 5 singles this years, Average Top 5 this year is 1,6 millions.

Yeah but money they get from promote stuff in their videos still not much to cover 1/100 of the cost for make a MV.

If just with promote stuff in their videos can cover the cost of MV, I think every company/artists will not worried about how much sales of their songs and album.

early 2011 2NE1 did exactly the same thing, by promoting multiple tracks starting from Bom's Solo, followed by their group releases, everything started and ended well bonus the flying colors, Don't Cry achieved PAK, so as the other group releases, this has been visible by 2011 year end Gaon Top 10 Single Sales which 3 of their Singles took part of it. so, in that case yes, they gain more than what was spent.

also the promotional method has been applied to BigBangs comeback in 2012, and again recently for 2NE1 2013 comeback. so obviously, YG gain more than his expenditures as he do this oftentimes.

now, we have 3 releases from them this year which is slightly low compared to the 2011 releases, slightly because songs from then were cheaper compared to now. DYML raked the lowest but then its also the cheapest promotion from the group EVER home made video duuh, cheap stage designs, and colorful  jacket for their customes. , so that made up as DYLM still part of the top 80? of Gaon's release for 2013, FIL and TBF on the other hand, can be considered as a high end MV, as also for the production cost. However, FIL entered the top 70 of Gaon single releases for this year, so might still be a break even. while TBF, it was just there.  :._.:

MY on the otherhand is unquestionable as it is really doing good for a single, it sold more than 35DA's for 9DAYS which is a good sign for a single song, considerably a "PAK sales" . And already reach 450k Downloads in just 1Week and 2.5 Days.

It terms of expenses, the way that YG is promoting 2NE1 right now is definitely more expensive. They are essentially having 3 comebacks, which means more money spent on music videos, promotions for each single, and other forms of investments made to the promotional songs.

Whether the profit earned from using YG's tactic is more than the contemporary way of promotion, however, really depends on how popular the promotional songs end up being. I think YG was kind of disappointed with the performance of DYLM and FIL, as both have not hit the 1Mill mark yet, and that would explain why he pushed back the release of the 3rd single.
