Do you find the negative connotation of uncle fans being creepy fucked up?

First of all, I'm 21 years old

But why is it I always get made to feel like I'm some creepy perv just because I Stan girls younger than I am?

Why is this such a pressing on why a lot of Kpop fans voicing their displeasure and not wanting their "bias" groups to not have uncle fans?

Most (if not all) of those "uncle" fans are actually the ones spending their own money for their actual bias group, their own money for fan meets and such....not the money their parents make. Not to mention, a lot of them actually are married and have families. Why is it so bad for them to show their appreciation for their favorite musical groups?

Another thing, most Sasaeng fans you see in the news are actually the fangirls. Not trying to generalize here but it's the truth. I even read about some fan girls going to their biases' dorms and stealing their clothes or smth. Now that shit is creepy.

I just wanna say people should erase this horrid mindset they have of uncle fans. There are bad people who exists in both demographic. Don't single one out just because you're thin-skinned and get so easily offended.

This damn generation we live in and how old people cannot publicly show their admiration for the youth without being called a "pedo" is just so fucked up.

What do you guys think about this unfortunate shituation?

What do you think of actual uncle fans?

I think it's fine for older guys to like younger groups ... like I'm only 16 but if I'm still into kpop by the time I get older I don't want to be discriminated against just because of my age and I certainly wouldn't want to stop liking kpop just because of my age and ofc that's only if I never get over being a kpop fan

You are the same age as me how are you an uncle fan. I must be an auntie fan then lol

(Im assuming uncle fans have a huge age gap from the person they stan, correct me if im wrong)

As long as you arent sexualizing or fetishizing a underage member i dont see whats wrong tbh

Music is music there are people who are older than beyonce and stan her like no tomorrow tf BE LOUD AND PROUD HONEY

I didn't know there were a term for "uncles fans" since I don't stan girls I just didn't know

I don't find it strange tho now I know it, there is a lot of noonas for boys sometimes and it's always a pleasure to see them in the public, that almost make me happy because they can enjoy something else than stress of life and also things that aren't from their "generation"

Well I talked about this before. There was this pann talking about the demographics watching new gen GGs reality shows and some people freaked out when they saw Lovelyz having most of their viewers being middle aged men in their 30s. I was like ??? How is it a bad thing? First of all it involved reality shows so we cannot really say this is their fanbase, there were non fans watching too. Second of all, why not? Arent uncle fans FANS? There are really creepy ones but not all of them are pervert please. They actually support these girls...look at how IOI uncle fans fought to have the girls go on more tv shows, writing petition and shit. They spend money, buy albums, go to their concert etc...so why are they constantly put down?

I saw this with Seolhyun as well like having more male fans is considered a sin while those having more female fans are praised (girl crush huh?). The irony of it all is that you will see the same fans fighting in Army poll ranking and constantly trying to argue as to why their faves are still popular among males :imstupid:

Honestly its ridiculous. Even groups like SNSD had a lot of uncles fans when they got big and their fanbase evened out with time. Let these girls get those fanboys and those uncle fans, there is nothing wrong with it.

go stan adele or madonna u old fuck

Rot in your wheelchair, jimmy!

lol was this from the thread?

and yea, its pretty ignorant to immediately view older/uncle fans as either perverts or pedophiles.

Yeah aha

I just don't get how people can have such ridiculous mindsets on older people just because they aren't the target demographic

The term uncle fans refers to men in their 30s-40s plus who like girl groups in their teens/early 20s. It does not refer to fans like you. I don't find the stereotype fucked up because it is creepy when these girls are obviously sexualized by them. I feel the same way about auntie (?) fans.

I'm 20 so maybe this is gonna sound hypocrite

but I find it very creepy seeing old male fans mostly in their 30's/40's stanning girls in their teen years, especially when the girls are doing cute concepts, it just rubs me the wrong way

And yeah I admit I'm being over judgmental but I can't help it because since I was 14 , I had these much older guys hitting on me and being all creepy which was disgusting

I think a lot of girls here had the same experience that's why they might feel a lil weird about uncle fans

I'll try to open my mind a bit, but it's a very hard

Didn't you start an official thread in the 18+ subforum for Black Pink so people can lay out their creepy fantasies over these barely legal girls? Is that the "Admiration" you're talking about?  :imstupid:

No/

Minors, especially the girls, are being sexualized and there's no question about that. So when uncle fans (men in their 30s-40s) are drooling over their fancams and god knows what else (either physically or in their head) or saying shit like "They are the reason I'm living.", it's creepy.

I just find it a bit weird and a bit uncomfortable when guys in their 30s-40s are crazy over teenagers tho

it depends if he is into them for their music it's fine but come on most of these older guys have a fascination with young girls doing aegyo and being too cute.

That's understandable, and I guess it dates back throughout history

Basically the same as how society can only see women being raped by men and not the other way around

Society as a whole I feel still is not quite as equal as people would like to make it out to be

How is that related tho?

Not to mention, all the girls in the group are 18+ and it was made in the 18+ section for a damn reason

What I'm trying to get at is the overall consensus and idea that people think ALL uncle fans are creepy...when that is from the truth

i think is kinda gross when i see old dudes having crushes on underage girls but isn't that exactly what companies are trying to do? :imstupid:

Hmm never actually thought about that but yeah

Most Kpop companies/groups may actually target a specific (teens) demographic with the flashy concepts and the bubble gum pop sounds, but these companies know for a fact who actually spends money on their idols

I find the double standard more fucked up. People going around proudly calling themselves "noona" fans, going batshit as soon as they deem their idol "legal" like they didn't have these feelings before then, and noone even bats an eyelid  :imstupid:
