The reason why Sechs Kies goes to YG recording studio every day before their concert

These guys are doing their very best for fans. While group Sechs Kies is working hard on their upcoming concert, they are going to YG’s recording studio every day. For their first concert in 16 years, Sechs Kies is doing everything from scratch, from the music itself.

Sechs Kies goes to YG’s recording studio every day these days. While being busy with preparation for the concert and appearance in TV shows, Sechs Kies has been recording more than 20 songs they will perform in the concert from scratch.

According to YG, there were only one or two available accompanying music for Sechs Kies songs as they have not sung for the past 16 years. No one had the accompanying music for Sechs Kies’ songs. Plus, YG does not usually use accompanying music for TV shows in its artists’ concerts, as the company puts great importance on the quality of the sound. Therefore, YG is creating the accompanying music for Sechs Kies’ concert on its own. It shows how big pride YG has in its concerts and how much YG is caring about the quality of its concerts.

YG plays music in multi-tracks from rehearsals and mixes the sound again in compliance with the one-site conditions found in the rehearsals, because echo is generated and sound becomes much different according to the size and circumstances of concert halls. YG’s CEO YANG HYUN SUK puts utmost importance on the quality of sound in concerts, so the first thing he did upon signing the contract with Sechs Kies was to call more than 10 producers and to order them to restore the sound of Sechs Kies’s music that was recorded 16 years ago.

That is the work to upgrade the sound through mixing by American engineers, while maintaining the originality of Sechs Kies’ music. It is of course hard to rewrite and mix more than 20 songs within a short period of time, but it is even harder for Sechs Kies to record those songs all over again including chorus parts.

An YG insider said, “It is only hard at the beginning. Once the recording and mixing is completed, all performances that Sechs Kies will do from now on will be able to boast perfect soundâ€. As Sechs Kies members are working very hard on the preparation of their concert with YANG HYUN SUK’s full support, many people believe that the concert will be unprecedentedly perfect.

Notably, all the 20,000 tickets for Sechs Kies’ concert have been sold out, proving the team’s still-great presence in the music scene. Such a record also shows how desperately fans have been longing for Sechs Kies’ reunion. Fans are expressing big anticipation for Sechs Kies’ first concert in 16 years.

SECHSKIES starts again after a 16-year break.

At 3:30 PM on September 11, a press conference was held before SECHSKIES’ concert “YELLOW NOTE†kicked off at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.

EUN JI WON said, “This is the first time we stood before reporters after our group disbanded. Being here brings back many memories. I think that support from so many people made this possible.â€

He went on to say, “We even got to hold a concert. Originally, we’re only going to hold the concert for one day because we’re worried about how many would remembers us. But so many people wanted to come to our concert, so we’re able to hold the concert for two days. Thank you. We’ve prepared for this concert for a long time.â€

KANG SUNG HOON and KIM JAE DUK also smiled and said, “We’re so thankful to our fans for letting us hold a concert. We’re quite nervous.â€

When asked why their concert was titled “YELLOW NOTEâ€, SECHSKIES answered, “The title of our last album in 2000 was ‘BLUE NOTE’. We finished telling our story with ‘BLUE NOTE’, and 16 years later, we want to say what we want to say to our fans with ‘YELLOW NOTE’.†KIM JAE DUK said, “EUN JI WON came up with the idea. ‘BLUE NOTE’ sounds sad, so we wanted to offset it. It has a good meaning.â€

EUN JI WON talked about the recording process of their new song. He said, “It was really fun. In the old days, the composers were much older than us, but now they’re younger and it’s more fun. It was the first time that we had fun while recording a song.†He went on to say, “I was so moved when I heard that TABLO cried while writing the lyrics. So I asked him to show me the tear-ridden lyrics, and he took out what looked like a dried-up wet wipe. I read the lyrics line by line and they were very easy to relate to. I recorded the song thinking that it will be a big present for our fans. It got me emotional at some moments. But it was fun.â€

When asked about H.O.T reuniting, EUN JI WON said, “They debuted earlier than us. It’s their 20th anniversary this year. We really wanted them to reunite like us. I talked with Moon Hee-jun as we’re on the same show, but I don’t think it’s our place to say anything. It took a long time for us to become a group again because we didn’t want to make a hasty decision.â€

He continued, “It’s not something that could happen just because people want it badly. The members have to agree on it. I believe that they will come back as a group again someday.â€

When asked about the group’s new teenager fans, EUN JI WON said, “I think many people took interest when we appeared on Infinite Challenge, and they looked up our old hit songs. They must have liked our songs and felt that there were also many good songs in the past. I learn a lot of new slang from them. I learned what ‘picketing’ means yesterday.â€

SECHSKIES made an official comeback. About their future plans, members said, “We want to sing new songs, appear on music shows wearing name tags, and go on ‘Weekly Idol’. We want to do a lot of things. That will keep us busy for the rest of the year, and next year is our 20th anniversary. We want to do a concert to celebrate. We’ll make plans and take it by step by step.â€

SECHSKIES reunited after appearing in Infinite Challenge’s Saturday Saturday is a Singer 2 earlier this year. Then, they signed a management contract with YG Entertainment and prepared for their first solo concert in 16 years. SECHSKIES fans are happier than every these days. SECHSKIES got reunited in 16 years, and the group even held their very first solo concert. On top of all this, they even released a new song. This was indeed a dream come true for the fans.

SECHSKIES reunited after appearing in Infinite Challenge’s Saturday Saturday is a Singer 2 earlier this year. Then, they signed a management contract with YG Entertainment and prepared for their comeback. They will promote their new single “THREE WORDSâ€, which is made by TABLO, until the end of this year.

EUN JI WON said, “We want to go on music shows and programs like ‘Weekly Idol’. We are willing to do whatever if we can do it. That will keep us busy for the rest of the year. Next year is our 10th anniversary so we want to do a concert. We have a lot of plans.â€

SECHSKIES made preparations to have their very first solo concert before recording the new song. They are not young, the average age of the members is 37.7, but they practiced day and night so that they don’t let their fans down.

Members said, “Maybe it’s because of age, but we were sweating so much from the very beginning of the concert yesterday. Because it has been such a long time, we weren’t able to control the pace. We went full pace too early, from the beginning. At some point, I almost felt I would faint any minute.â€

The title of this concert is“YELLOW NOTEâ€. The last album of SECHSKIES that was released 16 years ago was called “BLUE NOTEâ€. To express that SECHSKIES wants to continue writing their uncompleted story, they named the concert “YELLOW NOTEâ€. SECHSKIES will sing their hit songs at the concert, which will be a pleasant walk down the memory lane for the fans.

Music is powerful in that it brings back many memories. The power of SECHSKIES’ music will be demonstrated at the concert.

Sunghoon transferred to Jiwon’s school in Hawaii and they soon became close friends. Then they started living together. Even when Jiwon got expelled from school for attendance issue, Jiwon never forgot to give Sunghoon a ride to school.

 

They both promised each other that if they still not married at an old age, they will live together in Hawaii.

Jiwon and Sunghoon were the first to be discovered by Daesung Entertainment's co-president who was vacationing in Hawaii. The two were discovered and cast at a nightclub.
