Wonder Girls heading to Studio J?

If you watch WG's Why So Lonely teaser, you will notice a Studio J logo at the bottom corner at the end of the clip. This can largely suggest their future musical direction.

Studio J is a sub-label under JYPE that houses talented singer-songwriters from JYPE (G.Soul, Yerin, DAY6, etc) and focuses on 'less mainstream' (for the lack of better phrasing) music - as opposed to the likes of Twice, GOT7, etc. from the main label. They have drawn some criticisms over the supposed lackluster promotions and marketing, but are a wonderful place that nourishes talent and creativity among their artists.

With WG having complete control over their music since Reboot (all tracks composed and written by all the members sans  I Feel You by JYP, where the rap is still made by Yubin), and reigning even more control with their upcoming (half)mini album: title track Why So Lonely (by Sunmi & Hyerim), To The Beautiful You (by Sunmi, Yubin & Hyerim) and Sweet & Easy (by Yeeun & Yubin); and their music sound sounding less and less 'kpop mainstream' (Why So Lonely being reggae/retro/band, To The Beautiful You being very chill 70's retro), we definitely saw Wonder Girls x Studio J coming.

What do you think about this?

BAY also had Studio J's logo at the end of So So. It may just be branding, i.e., Studio J's logo starting to appear next to JYPE's logo no matter where exactly the artist is housed. Either way, I have no complaints.

no they still promote under JYPE

this is what I understand, but it's join work. since they co produce this album with producers and directors from Studio J (like Frants who co wrote the title track). as said Ah Yeon got the logo too.

at this point, SJ is just a sub-house with more indie vibes in the creative directing, that's it. they use to not promote their artists but look at DAY6 who did their music show debut this year...

Studio J sucks so much, like they don't promote their artists.

DAY6 could have been much bigger if jyp didn't screw them up by putting them in studio j.

the same situation with g.soul, all of his songs were so good, yet jyp failed to make him more successful

so I hope that WG will get the best treatment by jyp cause they are the only quality group they have.

What mess are u talking about??

the fact that this might be a 3 tracked maxi single

the fact that there's 4 individual covers and no group covers

the fact that the covers are of the first set of teasers instead of the better 2nd teaser pics

or the fact that there's only 20k copies made and you don't get to pick which cover you want

take your pick..

I mean i shouldn't care as long as I get music but I care...I care alot

TBH most people misunderstand the concept of Studio J :unimpressed:

they actually just a production house that give facility and helping hand to these artist to produce their own music with their own color.
Promotion and schedule management still under JYPE.
:ahmagah:

so if you want to blame the poor promotion and management blame JYPE.
:donthinkso:
