Why is that everyone is making topics about the new NGG but not the NBG?

But isn't EXO pretty much the second most popular boy group right now? Both domestically and internationally, with public relevance and enormous fandom power?

Once Big Bang enlists, it's pretty clear that EXO will be the reigning boy group unless something really big, but REALLY BIG happens and some boy group elevates itself above them (which is not happening if you ask me).

And this whole discussion is stupid anyway, but if you look at the whole picture of Kpop market right now objectively, this seems to be a conclusion, simply because Big Bang and EXO are ways ahead of any other boy group you could possibly name.

Not really.  :imstupid:

probably bc there's multiple different girl groups who are doing really well right now, while in the case of boy groups like always there's only a small handful that do really well

Why do you all even care about these meaningless "national xxx" titles? As long as my faves are happy and they keep making bank and releasing music I wouldn't care if they are the universal boygroup or the neighbourhood boygroup. I swear i only ever see these titles in korean entertainment and i never understand them.

I think it's because there's really no Girl group that has achieved the level of success that SNSD achieved. I don't follow SNSD but it clear from the number of wins etc that they're the biggest girl group by far. With Boy groups you have newer group which have achieved massive success EXO, BTS, etc.

Because realistically speaking no boy group has come close to Big Bang's success.

They have it all digitals, physicals, touring, public recognition, every member is known, CFs, etc.

And also because people like to pin women against each other.

Because Big Bang and EXO are so far ahead of everyone else it's not even funny?

EXO probably sells more than every other boy band this year combined if Big Bang doesn't make a comeback. Unlike SNSD EXO isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

While SNSD is clearly drawing back their activities and I won't be surprised if they disband within a few more years and the members go their separate ways. Plus besides SNSD there wasn't a clear front runner for second place (A Pink, F(x) were competitive with each other and RV/AOA/Girls Day/Gfriend etc were on the rise). It wasn't till TWICE massively exceeded all expectations with Cheer Up that we had a clear candidate to take SNSD's place in the next few years and even this isn't certain as TWICE needs a few more come backs on Cheer Up's level or higher to solidify their rank. They still have the chance of flopping badly with next few releases or being sent off overseas.

Because everyone already knows that BIGBANG is the Nation's BG. I mean, just one of the members dating article got 30k upvote and their Anniversary concert at Seoul World Cup Stadium have 66k seats lol
