Ariana Grande gets accused of shading Selena Gomez's lip syncing at KIIS-FM jingle ball

Last night saw the KIIS FM Jingle Ball take place in Los Angeles, and what a night it was. Ariana Grande looked like a human snowflake, Selena Gomez went raunchy and Miley Cyrus.. well, Miley Cyrus twerked on Santa.

However, in amongst all the festivities there was a bit of dramah too - when Ariana was accused of having a dig at Selena for not singing live. OOH.

A couple of artists performing at the event suffered from technical glitches - including Ariana, whose microphone decided to start playing up mid set.

Laughing off the situation, Ariana told the audience: "At least I'm singing live", which SOME people took to be a bit of a catty remark aimed at other performers.

Then things started to go a bit crazy on Twitter, with many users claiming the jibe was actually about Selena - forcing Ariana to take to the social networking site to defend herself. PHEW. Are you following so far?

"Ohhh jesus. I wasn't throwing shade AT ALL," she tweeted. "I didn't even see anyone else's set. I was sick backstage that's why I didn't even do the carpet."

"I was just cracking a joke cause my mic was off. Everyone had tech difficulties. Sorry if it was taken the wrong way it wasn't my intention!"

WELL we're glad that one is all cleared up. We wouldn't want some sort of Ari/Sel feud starting now would we? What do you make of all this?

Thats what shade is though, maybe not to selena but it was shade.

She was basically insulting anyone who lipsyncs.

We should be encouraging Selena Gomez.... if she insists upon performing live.... to continue to lip sync....for the rest of her career.

Not shaming her for it.

That does nobody any favours.

I went last night to Jingle Ball and let me tell you, the only three people who were actually good were Macklemore, Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus.

The rest were either lip syncing or giving a crappy performance. Selena was a total disappointment. I love the girl, but she was just.... :twitch:  :twitch:  :wut:

 

Anyways. Ariana also dropped the f-bomb. The mic wasn't working at first and she had to run to the side so that they can check it, getting working, and when it worked she was all, 'well fucking finally.' Then she realized that everyone could hear her.  :har:

Well, a reason, yeah - because most of them can't sing. But an excuse? No. Not when every other group can do it.

 

You're right, there is never an excuse to lip syncing because plenty of bands can still sound great live while doing intricate dance moves.

But in EXO's defense, I have heard them sing live before, and they're really not that bad, so I really don't understand why they still have to lip sync.

 

EXO-M sounds great live. Much better than EXO-K.
