Why do people lump Red Velvet with the other Rookies

They debuted 2 years ago.

2 years into SNSD's debut they hit big with Gee

1 year into EXO's debut they hit big with Growl

1 year into SHINee's debut they had Ring Ding Dong

f(x) almost made it with Electric Shock

They already had their chance. Twice & Gfriend are doing it now.

Or are they assumed to be rookies because they don't have a hit song?

They seem to be relevant enough to have trolls like you try and use them for trolling daily so I think they deserve to

I just joined this site like yesterday

Groups are usually still considered "rookies" for the first 2 years or so. They're definitely reaching that point where I no longer think of them as a "new group". I think they've accomplished a lot and have a strong fanbase though. They're a successful group with room for growth.

1.  Because they still haven't placed themselves in a high enough position for people to declare them in a different era than the newer groups.

2.  2 years isn't that long ago...

Infinite doesnt have a hit song yet

They are doing so good wih each comback

And they have solid fandom

so your point is ??

Red velvet can't be big because they dont have one

Infinite has Be Mine, I think it did just as good as Ring Ding Dong

but infinite isn't a good example of a 'big' group

Twice is the only rookie. And ioi. Gfriend is not anymore either

????

Are you talking about in general? (If you're talkin about what the OP wrote, why would you talk about IOI?) Cause there's Gugudan and WJSN/Cosmic Girls (probably a whole lot more but these are the only ones I can remember)

f(x) Pinocchio rank #6 overall yearly Gaon chart of 2011 that gave them first win and triple crowns, so Electric Shock isn't their most popular song in Korea.

But it took them 1 year to comeback with Electric shock, so they can't ride big momentum that they had in 2011 to go higher which I'll always bitter.

Jackson introduces himself from the Rookie Group Got7 during Variety Shows this year, and they debut before RV.

3 years is about the period where you're not considered a Rookie because it means you have been on the scene long enough. Music Charts and Shows wins have NOTHING to do with being a Rookie or a Veteran, and neither does POPULARITY.
