By the way guys, i saw someone on YT saying that Lee Soomin isn't her real name. Does anyone know whether this is true or false? And while we're at it, anyone has info about her career history / background?

 

I mean, i'm 99% sure she's not really an 18-year trainee, but when even KBS (a rival network) Happy Together is repeating that line, what is true anymore?

What I could picked up on (yet I might still be wrong) is that her real name is Lee Hyemin and was born on Oct. 5, 1984. Debuted as a theater actress in 2003 and was in a 2005 musical, 'Lunatic'. Her last TV role before GoM was in the SBS drama 'But Like' (2007) and before that was her TV debut in CBS sitcom 'ì´ìˆ˜ì¼ 집사와 심순애 권사'. Not to keen if I understood it right but the only film in the list 'The Unforgiven'(2005) had her on only in photographs and a voice in the phone.

I really think this season of GoM is helping to launch her career into the mainstream, assuming ray9's understanding of her real-life profile is accurate (she hasn't had much mainstream success yet, it seems)

Lee Hyemin/Lee Soomin/Son Yeori is a really unique case. Artists sometimes have stage names, which is like a permanent nickname which they go by for the long term. That's different from the names of the characters they portray, which are only used when in character. But in her case, it seems she took on the name of her character as her stage name. On top of that, she had a different stage name in the past...

 

I wonder if she gets confused when people address her 

 

PS - is the song out on iTunes yet do we know?  Coz my search skills turned up not a thing!

 

The last time i searched, i couldn't find it either. Unless someone has better skills than us and has found it, i guess we'll have to wait!

How many wons is needed for the badges? And what is exactly a CAF?

I'm always lost with the badges rules and stuff

 

This screenshot might help illustrate things better:

Just click the large brown "WONHALLYU" icon at the top of the page to access the shop area.

 

Basically a single CAF (Custom Award Request Form Entry) costs 250,000 won, and it allows the user to request ONE new badge (for a group / member / soloist / actor or actress) to be added to the site. So for CIVA's group badge and one for each member, we need 250,000 x 4 = 1,000,000 won total

Well, I have the money to buying one (I can do it for Chaekyung). But it says 0 in stock, so, I don't know how to do it :C

 

It could be because awards season is not yet fully over, so they're not allowing new badge requests yet. If the CAFs don't get restocked soon, i'll ask Delphine about it

Ok. So, I'll be in charge of getting a Chaekyung badges.

Now, we need wons just for 2 badges more, since you can buy 1 CAF too

 

Yup. I'll buy one for the CIVA group badge. Now we need Sohee and Soomin bias fans to fork out wons for 2 more CAFs.

 

Another matter is the voting thread for the badges. The OP of that thread doesn't have to be one of the CAF holder(s). In fact, voting isn't even compulsory, but it's good to do so that the majority of fans can be happy about the images.

 

We can have one thread with all 4 badges, or separate threads for each. Do you want to be the OP? Otherwise i can try (it'll be my first time, and i can't do graphics)

 

Lastly we need to keep in mind that Chaeky & Sohee will soon be debuting with another project group that will possibly promote on music shows as well, which means we'd be able to request a group badge for IBI & member badges for Suhyun, Haein & Hyeri.

PLUS, when each of these girls debut under their own companies, they'll be part of yet another group.

Seriously i can't decide. I think Chaekyung and Sohee should have badges under I.B.I since it has girl group feel. For Soomin should be actress category.

Good points. And no worries because the badges can be moved to the I.B.I section when the time comes. Now is more of a discussion about when we should hold the voting - asap or later?

Project groups are indeed confusing lol, and since P101 Generation, i think we've been setting a lot of new precedents for OH

Timeframe:

As @noeuljjang said, it might be a good idea to wait for IBI official photos, to have more choices for Chaekyung & Sohee. Right now we can start making mocks for existing images, and for the CIVA group badge.

 

About Sohee:

So far we lack any input from Sohee biased fans. Please comment if you have an opinion about what to do about Sohee, and whether anyone wants to buy a CAF for her now.

 

About Soomin:

Even if she'll be placed in the Actress category eventually, it'll still be us CIVA fans who have to lead the request (because i don't think she has any fans elsewhere lol). We can start doing hers asap because there aren't any upcoming official photos that we know of.

This Soomin highlight video was uploaded 2 days ago and already has an astounding 915 929 THOUSAND views. Edit: it rose 14k views in 1 hour WTF

 

The title, description and even the comments are all in Korean, so we can assume international views don't make up much of that number. The channel doesn't have that many subscribers or views on their other videos either, so that's not it.

 

My only conclusion is that she just went viral in Korea.

 

Prepare for the coming reign of Lee Soomin, the new comedy and variety queen.
