The "SM IDOLS" and "YG ARTISTS" dilemma.

In KPOP, we have seen many monikers given to a certain group or idol. But one thing I notice is that people tend to write SM Idols and YG Artists. It tinkers my curiosity why do people made this reference. Can it not be SM Artists or YG Idols?

 

Is it because YG "artists" compose and write their own song/s that is why they are called YG Artists? Do you think this is enough to validate them as an artists and not idols?

Simply, YG company stans like to feel superior to people who like SM groups. It makes them feel better to insinuate that SM's artists are nothing but idols... when in reality all idols under both companies are both idols and artists. It's still ridiculous to me that the word idol has such a negative connotation.

Maybe you've been reading old posts? Because i haven't seen anyone make that distinction recently. Even yg artists AND sm artists refer to themselves as both idol and artist afaik.

Tbh i read more posts complaining about yg stans supposedly making the idol vs artist claims than actual yg stans doing it. Seems like for every 2 yg stans that does that, there are 200 complaints about it and people end up generalizing all yg stans. >.> bandwagoners? Or just gravely misinformed?

They are all idols tbh......hell JYPE has more "artist" (as in the idols who produce, compose, write, and sell their material on MORE then one occasion) then YG anyway....but they are all idols nonetheless

I honestly don't like the term idol versus artists because just because you can compose your shit doesn't make it good.. Because a lot of SM artist can easily compose just as much is YG artist can but that's hearsay I honestly think everybody is just a bandwagon and or transparent I love all artists from both labels.. so in all honesty is just people consider one an artist because the label allow them to have creative freedom which is totally not how it should go but whatever
