So, me & my friends are planning to go around the manila after an event that'll be held in Manila

going to spend  3 days with only having 1 full day to go around(the other 2 days we have to take care of hotel-check-outs and go to airport)

please recommend me where to go around Manila

where's the best place to stay to go to that place? I am going to use airBnB

and what's the best transportation to use,

Is MRT handy? or using Uber app is much better for foreigner?

and please give me tips how to find halal food, is it easy to find?

a friend of mine got this pretty cheap place in Makati close to the zoo

is it recommended to stay there?

and please recommend us cheap things

we are just broke uni students *cries

thank you

Are you going around Manila area only? Or outside manila is much better. But you have 1 day to go around only, so the Best Choice is Manila Ocean Park, on the way to Luneta & Baywalk, on the way to Star City or Mall of Asia (that's your best choice).

If you really don't want to spend much, then just go to Luneta then go to Mall of Asia  :)

For me, staying in Makati is a good thing instead in Manila. For Halal food, I don't know where exactly here in Manila. Sorry about that. You can try searching for it in google.

Well, if you want some cheap things, you can go to Divisoria. Lots of goods there to be bought for cheap price.

As for transportation, you can use Uber or Grab app for hailing taxis. If you want to ride MRT or LRT, just avoid the rush hour which I think is 7-8 am and 4-6 pm.

And please... Be careful of your belongings and phones and be aware of your environment.

Hope you enjoy your stay here!

Manila?

I'd start with intramuros for sure.

Maybe luneta park, ccp, manila is packed wiith a lot of tourist attractions. I think the national museum (check on the internet for the real name) is worth the try.

Manila zoo, not so much.

You have the options to go to the malls, preferably near so glorietta is okay. i like the restaurants near makati business center too, so nice and it feels like a city. You can go to moa, north edsa, or megamall but your choice.

Look for cheap and good eats near your place, better if you're near the uni belt since the rave for student priced foods are there.

And if all else fails, you can just go to divisoria and shop till you drop. I got me my family and classmates rad things there and i only spent 500 for all of it. Found there my handy sling bag I've been using for a year now. Chinatown is amazing for eats too!

But go to intramuros please why spend a day in manila in malls and such if you can just marvel the old beauty of old manila??? My classmate will live there and he never gets tired going around there.

Uber for sure. Don't know much about the nightlife but I like 24/7 shops where they sell good eats like lugaw, silog, or go to ministop since the food there is the bomb (chicken and ice tea there are worth going for XD).

Dang I miss living in manila the liberty and the lifestyle of a manila boy is a part of me.

Where in Manila is that event going to be held?

But anyways, since you're in Manila, you might want to check out Luneta Park and Intramuros! Or go to Roxas Boulevard, BAYWALK! It's a good sight at sunset up to the darkness of the evening, and I think there's still plenty of vendors there with really cheap but iconic Filipino food haha. Then you can proceed to Mall of Asia and have a good stroll there.

For travel, I don't do much uber but if you guys are adventurous, courageous, and strong, go for MRT/LRT. Haha!

Edit:

For cheap merchandise, like the others said, Divisoria is the best place to be at. Just be wary of your environment at all times.

Transpo:

I choose uber or grab a taxi, but expect heavy traffic during rush hour

LRT and MRT are faster but always packed, make sure your not claustrophobic if you want to try it

Halal food? It will be a little difficult to find

I think there is one restaurant in Glorietta, Rustan's and greenbelt- all in makati ayala center

Intramuros, national museum, star city (amusement park), Manila ocean park-for sightseeing

For accommodation it depends on where exactly in Manila you want to stay

No problem, we said a lot since we don't want you to waste your time. Even us filipinos and manila people have a hard time to go out since there's a LOT you can do there and a lazy choice would be just to hang out in a mall when manila has a lot to offer.

Kinda wish you extended your stay to a week, so you can go out of town too.

Intramuros is a really good place to go especially during noon or morning. Don't go there around 12 pm coz you won't enjoy it much. Try going to the walls too and sit around there. You'll somehow enjoy the view of Manila.

can I visit these in one trip?

Luneta Park and Intramuros! Or go to Roxas Boulevard, BAYWALK!

about MRT, is it confusing? like as confusing as Japan's MRT @.@

I even often get lost in my homecountry and I am afraid some officer or some people can't understand english and it will be doom for us

like from Makati to intramuros, is it easy to figure out using MRT?

I'll make sure to take special note about rush hour

cause I don't want to spend my precious hour in this country stucked in traffic XD

i'll try visit makati ayala center when searching for foods~

Yeah, and you can do this plan: Intramuros <-> (You can ride a kalesa here!) Luneta - Baywalk - (Star City/Mall of Asia) you can ride a taxi haha

Take your time in Intramuros, it's really good!

MRT isn't really that confusing, it's just that when you get a ride there at the wrong time, it's chaos haha so take note of rush hour.

Hello ~ :)

First off let me just give out advices

>Please always make sure that your belongings or bags are in your sight. I love Manila but to be honest there are so many pickpockets in the area so if you are carrying a backpack/sling when roaming around, wear it in front of you especially if you are lining up for food or in a crowded area like the malls.

>Don't put all your money in one place. Like place aside a few bills in your front pocket and then bag so if ever (and hopefully it will not happen) something happens and you lose it, you will always have spare money with you for travel/going back to your hotel.

>In airports, also make sure your bags are close and keep an eye on it ALWAYS. I don't know if you have heard about the "bullet incident" but it is where people will put bullets in your bag without you knowing and when it gets checked you will be held back or worse asked to pay.

>Always count your money. If you are in a restaurant or café, always remember how much money you give to the cashier especially if it is a P1,000 or P500 bill, because there are a few cashiers who would not give the right amount of change and ask for a receipt.

I'm sorry for scaring you with the advices above, I just want you to be aware and safe, and also so that your first experience in Manila will be a happy one.

Next is Transpo ~

>MRT or LRT will be fine but expect a long line especially rush hour.

>Taxi is okay, just make sure that the driver turns on the meter. You will see it in the front somewhere near the driver and if he/she suggest a fixed price (which is much more expensive), turn it down and ask for the meter to be turned on which is much cheaper.

>An App would be better if taking taxi's so you can use Grab or Uber.

Places to go ~

>As most suggested here, Divisoria. Cheap prices for souvenirs and stuff

>Food, I'm really not familiar with Halal food but you can try malls because they have a variety of foods in there like Mall of Asia.

>Also food places near universities are usually cheaper like Silogan and home cooked meals. I really can't provide a specific area because I don't know what hotel you will be staying.

>Luneta park, Manila Ocean Park and other suggested here are a good place.

Hotels:

>Hotels near the airport will be ideal and with a shuttle service so that it will be easier.

>I have not tried these hotels but I asked around the hotels near the airport and this is what I mostly got so just check out their sites:

Airport Travelodge Manila - Hostel

DG Budget Hotel

Domestic Guesthouse

Hopefully that helps and have a good trip! :chu:

It's really hot here during lunch time. And if you're asking for streetfood, you'll see it like everywhere you go so expect that you can see one in Divisoria.
