The Supreme Court Decided Thursday that admissions officials can consider the race of applicants when making admissions decisions.

Writes Justice Anthony Kennedy in the Majority Opinion: "Considerable deference is owed to a university in defining those intangible characteristics, like student body diversity, that are central to its identity and educational mission,â€

Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, and Sonia Sotomayor joined Kennedy in the majority. The Dissent was penned by Justice Samuel Alito, and joined by Cheif Justice John Roberts, and Clarence Thomas.

Justice Elena Kagan recused herself because she worked with the case earlier as Solicitor General in the Obama Administration.

rip asians

Yes Asian enrollment goes down under AA programs, but they still remain over represented vs. the population at large. White enrollment tends to stay the same regardless of the presence of AA programs, but they are also over represented.

It's worth noting that all of these students still have to meet the minimum requirements of the university. Universities are also allowed to consider other non academic factors such socioeconomic status, volunteer work, and contents of essays.

It's actually much worse than you think with Asian enrollment, especially when you look at some that compare it to asian american population growth.

In harvard for instance it's down like -60% compared to per capita.

Affirmative action completely ruins asians, especially ones from poor countries or families.
