Which large company does the best job of giving each group a distinct identity?

No company does it perfectly imo. SM was pretty good with it up until 2015/2016 or so when everyone started having the exact same teasers and covers.

 

 

Honestly, I think YG is one of the worst with this because BB/Winner/Ikon's music all sounds the same to me.

I don't think 'identity' resumes to teasers. I think it's also about the group name, the general concept behind the group, their music, their visual and vocal color. For me, it's SM. Will any company ever f(x) and SNSD again?

At this point I don't see how Exo and NCT are all that different. RV and F(x) are similar too. Shinee is basically the male version of F(x) and TVXQ/Suju have had very similar music the last few years.

Still SM imo. The only thing similar is artwork for covers and stuff now (and Exo's was still pretty out there with Monster) but the music and identity are still pretty distinct.

SM stopped caring about music so it's definitely not them. I would say JYP. At first I thought Got7 would be another 2PM, but they're different. Wonder Girls came into their own over time, and Twice seem like they're starting to do the same.

I thought Monster's choreo was reminiscent of 7th sense's.

1) Exo and NCT have different music styles and concepts. Exo is still developing their story while NCT will eed a few more songs to ground their identity.

2) RV has the dual concept thing with velvet v red while F(x) is still the more "experimental" group

3) SHINee's music is very different from F(X) actually (from what I've heard), only View and 4Walls sound alike imo

5) Exo's albums were very well produced. Plus most of the solos have been well received by fans and have received decent promo (except for Luna from what I heard). Station songs are just songs, nothing else.

 

Of course in the end it's just your opinion but I'll have to thoroughly disagree ~

YG did a good job until iKON debuted. When Winner debuted they were praised and got attention for being really different from the "typical YG style". YG fucked up when he tried to market iKON as the next BigBang.

SM does have a distinctive, unique idea for each of their groups but they haven't showcased that too well in 2016. To the ones who said that RV is the same as F(x), they're not....RV is going more for the pop concept in the Red and like ballad like in the Velvet whereas F(x) is like electropop. Just listen to 4walls album and The Red album, you can tell there's a huge difference between their music.

 

YG is trying to like make their groups distinctive but in all honesty they're all the same...

 

JYP and their groups are pretty distinctive, especially with Wonder Girls new concept as a band. I was actually sad to see that Twice went from strong, bad ass concept (Ooh Ahh) to cheery, cheery, girly concept (Cheer Up), but the release of Touchdown made up for it.

You do realize people compare RV to f(x) all the time right? If people are saying they're similar to an already existing gg, they can't be super unique. 

 

I do think there is differences with both groups with f(x) being more electropop and RV being more pop/r&b

Jyp has Twice, 2pm, wonder girls, Day6, got 7 who are all very different.

YG has the least in terms of diversity. Apart from akmu and winner (a little bit), their other groups are all the same.
