 YongU is the couple name for CNBLUE's leader and lead vocal Yong-hwa and solo singer "Nation's little sister" IU. (This couple is officially confirmed to be just friends on 10/8/15)

It all began on a cold winter day in 2011...

Why ship YongU?

 

The charm of the YongU couple is in the way they awkwardly stand next to each other. In the way IU can barely glance at Yong-hwa's face during a duet while Yong-hwa eyes are full of intense passion. In the way you can just tell, that those two are so in love not interested.

 

There's just something so romantic about a pair who are trying their best not to look each other in the eye.

 

 

What they have in common:

Practically nothing

Both are singer-songwriters, guitarists, and actors.

Both love eating meat. <---

Yonghwa on his ideal girl:

I heard from the lovely people in the IU thread that there is a rumor that YongU might be a real thing!!!   I guess we'll see if that is the case but one thing is true, the "awkward couple" are now no longer awkward. IU: The 1st time I met him (YH) was during their debut period on Music Bank. Wa~ this person is so handsome~ so amazing~ seems like YH wore a white knitwear during that time, felt that it particularly suited him, really very handsome~ later, realised his singing is exceptionally good, I was taken aback~ initially I didn't think that we will become friends. a few days ago, someone posted on twitter that IU's favourite flower was 'bongsunga'/ garden balsams. She had said before that her favourite flower was lily.. there's nothing wrong with changing minds... but a quick look on wikepedia tell me that another name for bongsunga is, 'bongseonhwa' 

bong sun is one of IU's nick names......... and hwa............
