You are having great time eating and a relative without warning put the food onto your plate. For me, I would give it back to the person unless it is the food that I wanted to eat. She would tell me to eat even my dad hates it. Usually someone wouldn't do that unless they wanted you to try something and they were close enough to you to put it on your plate without asking. It's not really that big of a deal/insult imo. It's quite common for us to share the best portion of our meal to others (eg: meat, the tender parts). It's a nice gesture. But giving others what they don't like themselves and/or what others don't as well are different matters entirely.. In this case, I wouldn't like it either.
