Can someone explain to me how you can be a "good taxpayer" ? I mean doesnt everyone have to pay their taxes (not to pay them is illegal right?) ? How can you be good at it ?

Your a good taxpayer if your not cheating your assets(declaring minimal assets while having lots and lots of it).

How can you be so sure that tax payers are all good? Payers that are not paying on time are bad payers too.

i think, this could be wrong but i read before that people avoid tax a lot when they buy things for example expensive art, houses, cars etc also charities...

You dont have to pay exactly the same tax then.

There are illegal things also.

I was talking about illegal activities but ahhh i didnt think about the timing, true that might be the reason ^^

But i thought celebrities would have people who deal with their taxes hehe

i dont know about others but Tiffany has people that deal with her money. Tax, invest money for her , they manage her money and make sure she makes more money and pays tax on time. although i suppose in her case its a bit different since she is American citizen living in Korea with something like working visa so she probably pays 2 taxes or not? Not sure how it works when you are american working in another country.

Seriously you need to read panama papers scandal, most of richest people in this world include jacky chan, messy, and business acts are cheating about tax.

Waiting some wikileaks reveal kpop acts, and lee soo man and song hye kyo n jang geun suk are good examples from tax cheating candal

Americans are taxed no matter where they are in the world.  You don't get a break just because you made all your money in another country.

Being a "good" taxpayer in Korea maybe be fine and all, but the IRS is corrupt as hell and Americans are really screwed by the tax system.

Basically, you should take whatever deductions you can, because the government will surely give you no break.

the "Panama papers" was the product of (in all probability) the CIA, not wikileaks.

I suspect it was an attempt to embarrass certain European targets (e.g. Vladimir Putin).

However, having offshore accounts are NOT illegal or wrong in any way, as long as you are not trying to hide income.

I do know that. But do you pay it the same as if you were in USA.

For example lets say Tiffany has to pay 100$ in USA. But since she is currently working in Korea does she still pay 100$ to USA or less? And does citizens of USA like her that work in other country pay tax to the other country also? I suppose yes but probably not the amount like the citizen of that country pays?

No, its wikilleak, the one who embarassing US psy actions to most presidents in europe.

As long as the receipts are clear, whether is from cia or wikileak, the facts are revealed, that most richest people in this world are cheating.

I think it was MEANT to claim that these people were doing something wrong, just because they had offshore accounts.

Putting your own money in an offshore account is not illegal.  You can put untaxed income in the offshore account too, provided you report it to the IRS and pay tax on it.

All income is taxable.  The IRS makes no distinction about where you are in the world.

Keep in mind that there are some deductions you can take for expats abroad.  Some allow exclusions up to a certain amount (~100k)  provided you have lived about 330 days in  year.  Also you can get a foreign tax credit for a certain amount of your income.

I'm no sure if any  of that applies to Tiffany however.  A qualified tax preparer would be in order, of course.

It depends mainly on the treaties between the two countries. As far as I know USA and SK have a taxation treaty to not allow for double taxation but the details of it depends a lot on earnings and what she does with the money in general (investments/dividends/property are all under different regimes). If I remember well there's a threshold of income which you may deduct if you paid tax on it in Korea already.
