Oh and another anti-gay attack happened today..

A gay couple was attacked early Tuesday in SoHo, hours after thousands marched to protest the killing of a gay man and several other bias attacks that have shaken the community, NBC 4 New York has learned. Law enforcement sources said the two men, 41 and 42, were walking on Broadway between Prince and Houston streets at about 5 a.m. when two men started yelling anti-gay remarks in English and Spanish. The victims are Hispanic. The men were both punched, and one suffered an eye injury, sources said. Police said two men, 32 and 33, were arrested and face a charge of assault as a hate crime.

Doesn't speak for all Christian people nor gays

I think the point was that they don't even try to condemn it as a group, even if individuals think it's wrong.

so... you're pretty much implying that Christians will perform or advocate for anti-gay hate crimes...

and the Catholic Church may not have had anything to do with the crime at all. just because they're anti-gay does NOT make them Catholic/Christian

If you are a Christian, you are following the same religion as the people who do these things. You might not "be as hatefull and sick" but you still support a community that at it's core allows hatred against homosexuals.

Don't generalize.

Your title is loaded. Not all Christians are this hateful and sick.

lol Guilt by association is my fave logical fallacy.

how did i know some christians were going to come in and cry about how not all christians are anti-gay? lawd. point over head.

the point is that anti-gay rhetoric uttered by anti-gay organizations and religious institutions fuels these people

where do they get the idea that gay people is wrong? from these organizations and religious institutions

see the thing is that the glbt community isn't preaching hate from the pulpit against christians and we aren't organizing to take away the rights against christians. yet we have enough love and respect in our heart to condemn violence against people who are anti-us. while anti-gay christian organizations preach hate. preach putting kids in deconversion camps, exorcisms, beatings, etc

christian groups and religious institutions who are anti-gay and promote anti-gay religious beliefs have blood on their hands because they whip their followers in to a frenzy and say nothing when someone goes out and murders or beats on a glbt person.

I'm Christian and I'm totally okay with any sexuality, don't generalize >.<

A lot of people that don't even belong to a religion still have to understand that gays aren't something that should be exterminated or some shit like that.

yes that is true.

but what are the organizations and religious institutions that actively organize politically to affect our lives? christians!

muslim and jewish institutions don't have a whole network of organizations that they use to push anti-gay rhetoric and organize politically to strip our rights away

there's a difference between anti-gay and anti-gay marriage. also christian groups you may be referring to may very well be the Westboro Baptist Church and groups like them. you cannot exactly put the two together because it's like saying the Islamic terrorists/extremists and their beliefs account for all Muslims.

the followers of christianity do not advocate anti-gay violence at all. the people who go out and murders a lgbt person may hold no connections to christianity at all and if they do, that means they've strayed away from it completely. do you think the Catholic Church should speak for any anti-gay hate crimes when they have nothing to do with it?

Actually, muslim institutions, if we go by their influence in society, not only push anti-gay rhetoric, they aim to kill us.

not all Christian are against homosexuality

Christianity as a religion however is. The fact is that Christians who are not against homosexuality are the ones who go against the main religion shows you what Christianity is really about.

Don't blame all of us for those who take in their own hands to make things 'right' in the name of Christians.

Those who kill like that shouldn't even be included in any religion or even be recognized as human.

Blame the individuals or the organization, not the religion and the rest of those who practice it.

Do pro-life groups have blood on their hands because a couple crazed gunmen attack abortion clinics?

The answer is no.

A rhetoric that discourages an activity (whether it be abortion, gay marriage, or even smoking) does not necessitate violence against people that engage in those activities. If it did, we'd be seeing a whole lot more of these attacks.

To put this in k-pop terms, there is a fanwar between ELFs and SONEs that is quite serious to some people in the fandom. During the Dream Concert in Korea a couple years ago, there was violence between the two groups and accusations of rape and brutality. It is not fair or logical to blame these fandoms as a whole for this behavior.

Christianity has many branches, there is not "main" religion per se. Some accept homosexuality, others don't. Putting all of them in the same category is just...
