Lets take a look at YG Entertainment's artists

YG currently has 37 artists in its roster...

  • YG [inactive]

Believe it or not YG was and still is an artist .... hes even listed in the YG website but hes pretty much inactive as an artist

  • 1TYM [inactive]

One of the first groups YG ever created.... Teddy is one of the biggest assets in YG.. but the group is inactive

  • Jinusean

Also one of the first.. they made a comeback last year.. but have continued with their individual activities since then

  • PSY

One of the biggest KPOP icons globally.... Gangnam Style took over the world in 2012... his last album did very well digitally but physically its his worse selling album ever... 6k compared to 126k in 2012.. not to mention the long hiatuses he takes between releases

  • Epik High

Tablo is working on HIGHGRND and Mithra just got married.. their public relevance is high and their digitals are solid.. their concerts are legendary too

  • Big Bang

Arguably  the biggest boygroup in KPOP ever... still incredible sales and recognition but they are burdened by enlistment..

  • TOP

Most likely will be the first to enlist.. has a future in acting

  • G Dragon & Taeyang

Solo comeback is a safe bet either before or after he enlists..

  • Daesung & Seungri

doubt they will get a solo in Korea anytime soon but who knows.... they could still promote in Japan either  before or after enlistment

  • 2NE1

they are rumored to have a comeback in the summer.. but I have no idea how they will do .. you can't really make a speculation using their previous comebacks since they have 4 things that are burdening them

  1. Bom's Scandal
  2. CL's 10th US debut
  3. Minzy leaving
  4. 2 year hiatus
  • Lee Hi

Hayi is definitely my favorite artist under YG.. although her latest amazing comeback did very well.. its a considerable decrease in sales compared to her 2013 album.. which is understandable considering its her first real comeback in 3 years

  • AkMu

THE biggest stars to come out from KPOP Star ever... their songs before they debuted with YG had millions of downloads and they slayed Korea with their official debut in 2014.. their latest comeback also did incredible with getting 1 million downloads for the album in less then a week... but ReBye is not charting as well as 200% not to mention Chanhyuk is enlisting this year.. so I wonder what will happen to them..

  • Chanhyuk is enlisting this year
  • I think they said that Suhyun will have a solo while Chanhyuk is gone

  • Winner

YG started the year with big plans for Winner giving them a schedule as extravagant as Big Bang's MADE last year.. but we have yet to see those plans play out since YG only released the E in EXIT.. oh and there is also a considerable decrease in sales compared to their explosive debut in 2014.. YG put them on a hiatus for a year and a half with no attention from the media at all.. which did hurt the group overall but still managed to do very well being one of the most successful boy groups digitally in 2016

  • IKON

They just released a pre release and apparently Bobby is making his official solo debut soon... their songs are doing well digitally.. one of the only groups that got multiple roof hits on melon.. but lack longevity.. also none of the songs they released was able to sell 50% of My Type's sales

  • Sechs Kies

16 years after their disbandment.. YG announced an official contract for the group [not the individual members] and will make a comeback with 5 out of the 6 original members .. who knows how this will play out

  • YGNGG

The Hype is real.... they will most likely carve out their niche in the new gen girl group war and make KPOP more exciting.... I can't wait

  • Katie Kim

She was supposed to make her debut within a year after winning KPOP Star season 4 but she has yet to be seen... I don't know whats going on

  • Hanna & One

They are both training under YG but who knows what will happen.... YG already has Lee Hi, Katie Kim & Suhyun as potential soloists... I wonder what they will do about these 2

9 months since they debuted...Touring around Asia. Hasn't had comeback yet.

Released a song as a gift to fans that still sits on the charts.

Define longevity for me.

now that you put Hanna and One together as trainees yet to debut, I just thought how awesome they would be if they were a duo.

I was thinking about that too..

I wonder where the fuck katie kim is? like wasn't her contract until april????

If im not mistaken they have to pay a big fine if they do not give her a debut within a year of winning KPOP star

I would love it tbh....

Your descriptions are too simplist and often wrong.

But your little fanfic here was a little entertaining.

Good rule of thumb in posting on a board this size...your opinions may be important to you but not thread-starting worthy. Maybe find an existing thread to put your opinions in.

Maybe type your opinions out but withhold posting it for 24 hours so you have time to think, "Is my opinion relevant? Are they well-thought out? Do I think these opinions are important enough that people will care?"

Your answer should have been no to all of these honey.

Was the purpose of this thread to inform us what burdens each artist or group or what? Cause I don't get it.

I was thinking about who could make a comeback in the second half of the year and then it lead to thinking about beyond 2016.. and I decided to make the thread lol

Basically to further prove that YG artists are really in the dungeon.

But... 4 different groups and soloists released music in the last few months and are still doing variety shows till now. You might want to rethink that answer.

OP but you don't even care about YG artists/groups aren't you a big JYP stan?

what's the purpose of this thread?

^^^

They have over 4 million downloads, I think they can live with that

well I was just replying to the Jcole user about what I meant by lacking longevity....... I was always one of the people that said regardless of what haters think Ikon's debut was definitely huge lol

So, longevity is defined by songs chart performances ONLY?

I mean didn't u just said that their DEBUT SONG was able to sell 50% more than the other songs in the album?

I mean didn't Dumb and Dumber win music awards

I mean didn't that gift song to the fans was nominated YESTERDAY for number #1 at inkigayo WITHOUT PROMOTION OR LIVE PERFORMANCE
