Sho: Ask me anything! I'll tell it all! Udo: Zero has prepared these 3 themes: 1) Behind the scenes at the press con 2) Finding a landing spot based on talks between the 5 members 3) Revival? Arashi, from now on Udo: Before the press conference started, how were the members feeling and what did you talk about? Sho: On that afternoon, I contacted Ohno. I said, "If anything happens, I'll follow up on it, so please be assured and prepare yourself for the press con." Sho: He said, "Thank you." The press con started at 8pm, so we gathered about 30 minutes before, and said, "This kicks off our activities until 31 Dec 2020, let's be even more united than before, join forces and give it our all." Sho: Right before our concerts, or before music shows, we'd look each other in the eye and shake hands, saying, "Alright, let's do this!" We did that right before the press conference too. Udo: Were you all able to convey everything that the Arashi members wanted to say during the press conference? Sho: Yes. What I felt during the press con was that, bearing in mind the feelings of our fans and the staff around us, while we wish that we didn't have to come to such as a day, we came to a decision in June last year, so we were finally able to tell everyone. It's a complicated feeling. When Ohno-san wanted to take a break, did he approach the agency saying that he wanted to quit? Sho: Yes, it was like that at first, but it wasn't about him quitting the agency, and he did say it during the press conference. Sho: He wanted to break away from Arashi and try living a life free from constraints. To do that, he thought he'd have to quit the agency. Later on, he spoke to the JE staff n they brought up the option of taking a break. Ohno was shocked because he didn't think it was possible. Sho: "Is (taking a break) even allowed?" he asked. Then the agency staff asked us, "So what do you think?" And we said, "Well if he's fine with taking a break, then we're fine too." Udo: Did the idea of disbanding ever come to mind? Arashi often says that the 5 of you are one, right? Sho: It did come to mind at one point. As you pointed out, we're not Arashi if one of us is missing. It did come to mind, but we wanted to avoid disbanding at all costs. Sho: We had to arrive at a landing point which all members could accept. I felt that it was my role to make sure everyone was on the same page.
