Why do people say that ggs all sound the same?

Honestly they sound the same to me. You can play a cute innocent song and I wouldn't know if it belongs to Lovelyz, OMG, IOI or Apink. Also there is a noticeable lack of unique voice. I probably can only note the main vocal, the others are all the same cutesy voices.

Before someone come at me being a "boygroup stan", the only boygroup I listen to is EXO, in fact I mostly listen to girlgroups. But I never become a fan of them because I only like the song, not the performer.

Because when you don't know something in depth and don't want to know it, everything looks and sounds the same (a shame, really). It's like when people say all asians look the same. The don't look the same, but they never took the time to try to differentiate them and they don't want to either.

boygroup stan.

I'm guess they're tone deaf or something? Most of the time its just stupid fangirls who only listen to kpop because they want to date oppa anyway.

Honestly for me it's the other way around. I think boy groups sound similar, really

I think it's just a matter of which do you pay more attention. I like gg's more than bb's and I rarely listen to boy group songs except for the mainstream ones, so I think they all sound generic in my own opinion cause I don't know enough details to differentiate them.

I agree that people just don't look deep enough to realise the differences. Though recently I've been seeing this happen to a certain boygroup saying they're using the same old cute concept...but I honestly only know 1 or 2 bg's that have been popular off of that concept...

I guess if people don't like something you can't force them to like it and they'll find a reason to hate (or they may genuinely believe all gg music sounds the same) . Some people like gg music, some like bg music and that's OK.

(It's only recently where I started listening to more boygroup music).

As for ifans not liking gg's that don't fall into cute/sexy, many of the popular 2nd gen groups rarely fell into those two categories.
