SNGGYU 2,323 Posted June 6, 2016 Share Posted June 6, 2016 the age gap doesn't really matter here, just assume he's like any other guy who's older than you if you plan on rejecting him. to be honest, I don't recommend it, but when I reject someone I usually put the blame on "I'm already in love with someone else." there is no gentle way to say it, so, if you don't have any interest in him, just say it directly and make sure he understands it, so the boy won't still have hopes, it could give you nightmares later on. for things not to be awkward just treat him the same way as before. You just have to make yourself clear without being an asshole (Eg: not something like "nah i hate u soz"). I think you should also be firm and if you don't see yourself with him, make sure you communicate that so he doesn't get confused and still think he has a chance. Say you don't have the time, or you're just not interested in being a relationship for now.
