[V Report Plus] Actor Darren Wang from ‘Our Times’ to visit Korea

 

 

Darren Wang, the main actor of the trending Taiwanese romance film “Our Times,†will be in Korea to meet fans on June 5 and 6.

 

On Wednesday, Wang personally announced his visit to the country via a live broadcast on the V app, during which he said in carefully practiced Korean, “I’m very happy the movie is receiving so much love from you. I’m coming to meet you all in Korea. You can follow the news of my visit on (the) Naver V app movie channel.†

Since its release on May 12, “Our Times†has sold over 320,000 tickets in theaters in Korea. The film’s plot revolves around the theme of high-school first love. 

 

Wang’s fan event will go live on the V app at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. 

 

The actor will also make appearances at 14 movie screenings at CGV theaters in Yeongdeungpo, Yeouido, Daehakro, Sinchon and Hongdae in Seoul on June 5 and 6, to talk with fans after the screenings. 

 

Nearly 3,700 movie tickets were sold after news of Wang’s visit to Korea broke on Wednesday.

Yeah, it's good things are getting better for him since 2016 started off not being very kind to him. There was lots of negative press about him at the start of this year.

I loved Our Times, even though I was raging at everyone and everything while watching it, it was a great movie, quite refreshing. I'm glad it's getting some much deserved attention...Darren as well, I want to see more of him in the future.  He's gonna be in Railroad Tigers with Jackie Chan and Tao this Autumn, I can't wait to see his performance, even though he's not the lead actor.
