So here I am with another appreciation thread on those songwriters/producers whose work we love in creating those kpop sounds and trends. First, I focused on the Big3. Before going back to them, I'll mention the various other quite sought after songwriters and producers. The latest one, is one that I personally absolutely admire. She is a main songwriter at LOEN Entertainment and has worked with an array of very different artists. I'm talking about acclaimed lyricist:

It is almost impossible to talk about Kim Eana without mentioning the genius behind the very organic and complex productions that she's written on at LOEN: 

 

 

LEE MIN-SOO (ì´ë¯¼ìˆ˜)

 

 

Lee Min-Soo has been around for about a decade and has actually not produced many songs compared to others. However, almost every time he works on a song it is automatically single material. He's known for flirting with live orchestral arrangements and mixing them with modern pop sounds. He is a true musician. This duo has over 10 number 1 songs on the Gaon chart.

Okay. This took me even longer than the thread on JYP. 

Kim Eana is a mastermind. I think she is right now the most hardworking and talented kpop songwriter. Her credits catalog knows no bound in terms of genre (pop, R&B, jazz, swing, ballads, dance), groups (over 40 different singers and groups) and companies (even YG!!). 

I don't think anybody else in K-Pop has written as many iconic songs as she has and I must applaud her for all the remarkable work she's done in the past 10 years. She is one of the very few artists making me wish I understood Korean because her lyrics tell meaningful stories (most of the time). Her melodies are always effortlessly catchy and haunting in a minor-key sort of way. She is unstoppable and I can't wait to see how many more hit songs she'll make. Just BRAVO!!
