Those Baek haters just waited too long to have something to accuse him of. he's very popular among K-pop fans and that fact pisses haters off. And now when he's at his first serious drama role, it's a perfect opportunity for them to bash him all day long. They usually don't even consider his acting itself, they just throw out tons of dirty stuff like his looks, attitude or lack of talent. When I see their negativity, it hurts but I know that these are just immature hate and bitternes from people who are very unhappy and unsatisfies with their own lives because instead of enjoying beautiful and interesting things they prefer to hate and be salty

Yes, he was phenomanal during that time  His hair, make-up, outfits were always so on point! I was on fire every time I saw him  I love it when they do dark concepts cause Baeks face with eyeliner, styled black hair, piercings, necklaces, leather clothes is pure orgasm for me    fierce, dangerous, strong and sexy - you just can't tear your eyes away

 

 

 

 

BTW today was released new director's cut for episodes 1-3 of 'ML'. I didn't find them yet but someone saw it in broadcast and according to their comments some scenes were added but some were cuttted out 

 

I wonder how actors were feeling when they found out theit scenes are gone 

especially Baekhyun... I don't want him to feel guilty for things he didn't do wrong

 

Isn't it awful that the reaction was so bad they had to re-make all what was released until now?  It makes me feel completely empty

And I'm not even sure they will be available to watch: some people from soompi.com say that "these edited versions only catered to SK audience, and not the international viewing". So the re-edited ep. were released only for Korean audience to make ratings higher   Maybe later they will appear somewhere online

I can relate to your worries very well

My mood switches 10 times regulary these days: at first I'm all positive and happy that I can see my precious Baek as an actor, starring in a cool new drama with good plot and interesting characters. Then I see hateful comments in forums, read new bashing threads which were created during night time a get all teary-eyed and sobbing my heart out because Baekhyun didn't deserve such harsh treatment. After that I spend half of the day depressed trying to convince myself that I'm okay and that all bad things will go away eventually 

 

And to think that Baek must be seeing negative comments! People is so freaking keen on writing bad things and bashing him, like, they know no rest from this!

I just hope he sees positive comment too and doesn't blame himself :(( this situation got completely out of control and there's still so much for him to endure, OMG 

 

 

Maybe after the start of Wang Eun's new relationship with his future 'wife' audience will change their opinion a little bit. I can understand if they still will be disappointed with his acting but if such fierce hatred will stop I could be at least more calm :((

these days, I was busy , but I turned to see the Baekhyun's  news and I was so happy to see you having fun in Hawaii with the boys , I hope he rest a little

and the drama with him , I liked his performance despite seeing some people talking badly , he plays a 14 -year-old is not it? I thought great, he has to face even brand new and it's funny how in real life.

He isn't really 14 years old   but his character has sort of childish and immature appearence due to the fact that he as a prince was spoilt since he was born. As Eun said himself in 3rd episode, no one ever contradict him before Haesoo even his mother so he grew up thinking that he can do anything and everything he does is right. That's why he seems so annoying and disrespectful - but in reality he's just an abandoned child (like most of the royal chilren usually): that scene with his father the emperor illustrated it very well I think - he looked so lost and confised and hurt - I actually thought Baekhyun did a great job in that particular scene

Just here to say hi. I heard about the comments on Baekhyun's acting. My sister's watching his drama, and according to her his acting wasn't that bad. D: I hope people will like him as the drama goes on.

 

I hope too! First episodes are always hard cause the whole drama is still very very new and audience are unused to everything going on. So maybe Baek's character seemed really strange for them and it resulted in bad reviews. I'm not even talking about haters, I mean normal people 

 

Sadly, the gap between episodes is pretty big so haters have lots of time to bash Baekhyun and IU from every angle

Acting of baekhyun in Korea is known among the people as much as idols who are insufficient acting ability. And also, viewers who do not see drama react poorly on acting.

 

Did you surprised to find amicable comment on this article?

baekhyun fan web-site had event to give present for someone who write a positive comment.

That happened before general people write comment. The assertion that fans write comments stating acting was great was started from other web-site, not Instiz. If it was uploaded in Instiz, it must be not translated, I guess.

* You can find out that event was held for positive comment, if you just access to oo fan site and twitter.

 

You don’t know as baekhyun’s fan does not bring negative comments on baehyuns acting.

When it comes to baehyun’s acting, internet post that criticize his acting has been so popular in these days in Korea, with some bad comments. You know how serious it is.

So, fans had no choice but to purify the writing.

 

The viewer ratings will settle it.

 

As fans keep posting comments pretending his acting was great. So, people in drama web-site used to feel anger.

And there are still many reporters who talk about his poor acting.

 

And most of people in Korea think his acting is not enough. But it was not on purpose to criticize him but acting.

In Korea, people used to react poorly to idol’s acting in Korea.

They respond well for good acting, most of them do not.

 

Although he was actually not enough to show his ability in the first and second episode, well I guess you already understand, it is hard to get better at sudden in third episode.

While watching response from people here, I know why they keep giving present to create public opinion.

The viewer rate in Korea will prove his acting ability.

 

In Korea, there are tremendous comments that criticize his acting. Seriously, even in Insitze in which his fans used to take in and out post frequently, there so many posts concerning his horrible acting.

But it is not good, so I don’t translate it.

In fact, favorable comments only exist in the certain news article. But on the other hand, there are so many negative articles on his acting. Well, there is no need to translate one from them. As there are so many articles on the internet, I’m not sure what I should translate for.

 

Even though I’m Korean, why I am telling you this story on 00 is that in here, someone who supported by a lot of fan is protected, which make me surprised me. And more importantly, telling truth matters.

 

Unfortunately, when I saw comments pointing out a problem of pre-production, it is hard to feedback for acting ability development.

Thus, viewer ratings will not increase.

 

The reason why viewer ratings increase on the second episode is that another drama was not aired at the same time

 

I don’t know what I am doing this in the place full of baekhyun’s fans.

I just wanted to tell you the truth.

I’d be appreciated if you saw me as ordinary person not even anti-fan.

 

Well, it is very surprised that so many posts of criticism for his acting were uploaded in Korean web site, were not translated.

 

And I have something to tell you about hits in China. You don’t know why Korea does not respond well, don’t you?

 

There are two types of Chinese drama hit: free hit and pay hit

In case of pay hit, it was Descendants of the sun. And this drama is free. Basically, the Korean drama hit in China exceeds two billion. Thus, the hit of this drama is not significant. First, in case of drama that was made in advance has fundamental hit, which means it does not depend on actor’s popularity in China. So, Korean was not inspired.

And, I could see some Chinese people here, someone who talks about hit in China and loves China laughing at Korean hit. In Korea, it sounds funny. No, even in other countries

 

Even though it is natural and obvious that the editing, compilation, environment should be different, it was strange to me to see people who laugh at Korea from a position of Chinese in this forum.

I think this person does have his/her (?) points. He/She's clearly not some crazy anti and that makes me appriciate her comment. That's true that in Korea people used to react to idol’s acting in a bad way more often thatn in a god way. it's nothing new

 

I agree with the words  - "telling truth matters". Even if I'm Baek stan and my opinion is probably biased, I can't be delusional and pretend that everything is okay and he's great in everything. I admit that he maybe did not act very good in compare to other actors BUT you must consider that it was his first experience in that field. For me that matters. So I'm trying my best at staying rational and not jumping into 'hate the haters' mood and not starting to everyone  that Baek was flawless and great. We need to be crytical too 

 

Although I doubt some parts such as

I just felt like ranting a bit, don't mind me too much 

 

 

 

 

I just was re-watching some old fancams of Baekhyun and EXO's old MV's and it all feels so nostalgic - at that time in the past I was a fan by myself and it was so new and interesting for me 

 

 

It's so amazing to compare Baek's pictures from past years and today's pictires - he seems so different but also so the same! I often spend minutes just exploring his face trying to see some new features and some changed with time. And to think that there was the time when I couldn't differ him from the others! Such a shame

 

But I don't remember thinking he was ordinary, not even once. I used to get so confused when I read people's opinions on him: what are you talking about, he doesn't look average and make-up has nothing to do with his beauty! Yes, that's true that he looks hot and cool with eyeliner, acessories etc. but it doesn't suddenly make him look good, it just highlights the beauty he already has! 

 

His face is so special. I'm writing it like a biased fan and I'm not ashamed of it   He could appear striking, strong and harsh but at the different time also soft and cute and so young   He's so charming with his face expressions, he just can't look bad even if he had tried  His small narrow face, pale skin, pouty mouth, little round nose and slightly crooked eyes - all these things together making such an attractive and likeble face, you just want to look at him more and more!

 

 

I'm not even talking about his smile, it's so radiance and literally LIGHT!  ​ 

 

And thankfully it's still as beautiful as it ever was!

 

 

 

Now it feels like back in 2012/14 he looked more cute and pretty that really handsome - he was young at that time, young and full of baby fat.     I loved that mischievous and chatty baby boy 

 

And now he became so much more mature: both in his appearence and in his behavior. He can be called handsome with the whole meaning of that word. He still is so-so cute and boy-ish, that can't be taken away too! 

 

 

When I see him in 'Moon lovers' I'm just living through shock wave every time! It's like he returned to his younger self! How's that even possible to look so baby-ish??

I honestly don't think his acting justifies the hate. He wasn't that bad.

I think people wanted to bash him even before actually watching the drama because he's an idol, and we all know how much they hate idols who try to act. On top of that, he's from EXO, and not even just that, he's Baekhyun from EXO, and I swear Baekhyun is one of the most popular but he also has lots of antis.

Once people watched the drama they were probably disappointed because it was so hyped they expected something better, and that aggravated his situation. If they really really liked they drama I don't think they would have been so harsh on Baekhyun. Of course they have to blame it on someone, so why not blaming it on IU and Baekhyun, the two idols? I mean, there's no use in hating on the other princes even though their acting wasn't that good, because it's not as satisfactory as bashing two very popular idols with lots of "immature" fans, whom they wanted to bash even before.

Maybe Baekhyun could have been safe if his acting were really good or if the drama were super good, but his acting was average and the drama was not so well received, so this is the result.

 

 

"Baekhyun is one of the most popular but he also has lots of antis" - I would say that these two facts are interconnected. The reason of so much hate was always very high Baek popularity: many people (in K-pop world) know him so the others (maybe fans too but of a different idol, maybe just bitter people passing by) feel the need to bash him just in spite of these fans. It's like when angry and frustrated person sees that someone is happy and popular, he wants to destroy that man's happines so he could be in misery too like him. Or maybe its like when person's favourite group/idol isn't that famous and the he decides to accuse someone else of that unpopularity and throw dirty stuff at someone who's getting a lot of recognition and love.

 

But that's my personal thoughts, maybe i'm wrong about that. It's all very complicated in reality, but I know one thing - Baekhyun didn't deserve this hateful and negative responses just because his role isn't that good

 

You've come a long way with Baekhyun~ As long as you love and support him, don't worry about what anyone else says~  Especially something as absurd as his acting in a minor role for a drama~

Yes I can see where some ppl think it's a bit over the top but that's the character, he's totally the comic relief in the drama. Even when all the princes are serious he still makes the other brothers laugh, even the serious and scary one. Like...ppl are shitting on him [because he's an idol and in Exo] and it's been 3 episodes. They need to give him a chance, this is his first drama on a MAJOR network. I am fighting for you My Prince!! That scene where he was all shy with IU was TOO CUTE!!!   He's v. adorable.

 

Oh, and I am OBSESSED with the OST   Currently jamming as we speak. His voice sounds so heavenly. You know tbh sometimes I wonder about my love for Baek, like it's always there but it feels different. Not intense like before [which I acknowledge now was too much] BUT I was listening to this song and shut my eyes and my heart was beating faster like his fricking voice gave me BUTTERFLIES like it was crazy. His voice does things to my body and he is one of my favorite singing voices I have EVER heard kpop or not. Ahhh, I still love you baby. I'm so proud of him and so excited to see him on the big screen every week!!!
